I have been working in childcare for 25 years and have gained a Level 4 qualification in Childcare, Learning and Education. My experience has mainly been in nursery settings but I have also been a nanny. I have been a Nursery Manager at Timperley Day Nursery since March 2013. My career goal has always been to work with children and even as a young teenager I babysat for friends and family. I now enjoy training and supporting others; inspiring them to reach their full potential and developing their passion for their career in childcare, ensuring that the care, learning and development in the nursery is maintained to a high standard.

Aimee Martin

My love for child care began at the age of 17 when I enrolled on a Cache diploma in child care and education course and began placements working in nursery settings. After gaining my level 3 qualification I began working in one of nurseries I did my placement at. I worked there for 10 years, working within all age groups ranging from 0-5 years.

Starting as a level 3 practitioner I soon became senior practitioner with the responsibility of running the toddler unit and then was promoted to third in charge. During my time at the nursery I went on to study at university and gained a Foundation Degree in Early Year’s Child Hood Studies. This enabled me to gain even more knowledge to go along with my many years of experience. I am really looking forward to developing my career and the exciting future ahead of me by joining the Bright Horizons Timperley team.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
