Meet the Team

Jenni McDougall

The fantastic thing about being a nursery manager is that never are two days the same. With over 100 families coming through the doors each day there is so much variety. I spend a lot of time talking to families and trying to make their experience the very best it can be and I am constantly thinking on my feet of new and exciting ideas which keeps me motivated.

The team I work with are also inspirational and I am in awe of their enthusiasm and creativity when it comes to creating meaningful experiences for our children. One day the room can be covered in flour/paint/sand/water/gloop and the next day the children are rushing under the parachute happily participating in games like one big family. The team always leave at the end of the day with a smile on their face knowing they’ve had fun and made a difference to a child’s life.

My day is always fun and filled with happiness as our children leave full of stories about their day to share with their families. I am very lucky to work with such lovely families and the most inspirational childcare professionals. I can’t imagine doing anything else.

Hannah Sherlock

I have a BA Hons degree in childhood and youth studies and have a paediatric first aid qualification. I have over 9 years of childcare experience and working in nursery settings. I am extremely passionate in ensuring the children enjoy their day at nursery and thrive to ensure you are provided with the highest standard of quality care.

I have worked for Bright Horizons for 8 years and recently moved over to Sale to cover Jenni’s maternity leave. I worked at our nursery in Wilmslow where I have built up my knowledge and experience.

Being a nursery manager is fantastic as never are two days the same. You may see me at reception working on the computer or in the rooms playing and singing nursery rhymes with the children. I am passionate in ensuring the children develop to the best of their potential and supporting my team to make this happen.

The team at Sale are enthusiastic and inspirational, they are always coming up with ideas to make the children’s experiences meaningful. They plan every activity based around the children’s developmental needs and enjoy sharing this with the parents during the evening collections. The team are passionate in making the children’s experiences come to life and always leave at the end of the day with a smile on their face knowing they have made a difference to a child’s life.

I like to spend a lot of my time getting to know my families in the nursery and making their experience the very best it can be. I always make sure I am accessible for every family and will endeavour to meet the needs of every family the best way I can.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
