Why Children Love Us

A place to grow

Clairmont Day Nursery and Preschool provides care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

We have 2 large secure outdoor garden spaces and we also have our forest school area in which the children have the opportunity to participate in forest school session every week with our forest school trained practitioner.

Our highly qualified team helped us to secure an Outstanding rating at our last Ofsted inspection.

Our Nursery Manager has a Level 4 qualification in Childcare and our Deputy Manager holds a Level 3 qualification.

We have six well equipped and resourced rooms to encourage and support children’s development and a dedicated baby nursery located in a separate unit which enables us to really focus on building babies’ confidence in those early development milestones. We have an Early Years teacher in our preschool room ensuring our children are prepared and able to start school with the confidence and skills they need.

Our excellent nutritionally balanced menu is produced on site and we have a 5* Kitchen Food Hygiene rating and our menu is endorsed by Action for Children.

We also have a variety of extracurricular activities such as Tunes4tots, pyjama drama and Fizzytots sports sessions included in your fees.

We also run optional Spanish class and football sessions with Macclesfield Football Club which you can pay for termly.

Meet the Team

Angela Brandwood-Greene

I have been with the company for ten years and have progressed and trained within this time. I have a Level 4 qualification in Childcare and Education I am also first aid trained and Epipen trained. I started within the company as a nursery nurse progressing to room leader to Deputy Manager and then Nursery Manager.

I am passionate about children’s learning and development and also providing an environment that supports all of our families with their busy day to day lives. We create a home from home feeling where everyone’s feelings and opinions are valued and respected.

Alex Gaskill

I started my journey with Bright Horizons 6 years ago starting as a nursery nurse in the baby unit after I had gained my L3 qualification. During my time with the babies I found that I had a passion for leading and was soon able to move over to the toddler rooms in the capacity of room leader. I have gained lots of experience looking after different children and families over the years and have a passion for helping children learn and grow as individuals, I particularly enjoy my role as SEND co coordinator, working with families and children to provide exceptional care for these children and seeing the progress they make.

I have more recently stepped into the deputy manager’s role and am thoroughly enjoying the challenges of running the nursery alongside the manager. I am dedicated in leading the nursery team in providing outstanding childcare and education for all our children and families.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
