The Perfect Place to Grow, Discover, and Flourish

Our Ofsted rated ‘Good’ nursery in Astley offers a warm and nurturing environment for little ones aged 3 months to 5 years.

Providing the Best Start

In our bright baby room, little ones under 2 explore at their own pace, following their interests and curiosities. Your baby will feel comforted and content as we follow their own individual routine around sleep, nappy changing and feeding.

Toddlers enjoy their own large room, which has lots of different areas to explore. To give your child the best experience, we encourage independence and plan your child’s day following their interests.

Your preschooler will truly flourish as they start learning the key skills they need for school and beyond. Taught in their own room by a qualified preschool teacher, they will feel ready and confident when it comes time to take their next steps.

A Bright Beginning for Every Child

Designed by our Early Years specialists, your little one will get the very best start through our enriching and wellbeing focused Bright Beginnings Curriculum.

Building on the foundations of the government’s EYFS curriculum, it combines a wide range of activities to nurture and develop the skills your child needs to flourish and reach their full potential. This holistic yet personal approach supports each child’s development and progress – whether that’s moving rooms or preparing them for school.

You can follow your child’s nursery day via the Bright Horizons Family app.

Exciting Large Garden and Allotment

Little explorers love discovering the large, landscaped garden at our Astley nursery. The garden is separated into age-specific areas, giving your child the best resources for their development. We also have a road track, which the preschool children use to practice their bike and trike-riding skills.

To encourage those green fingers, your mini gardener will have regular access to our lovely allotment, where they’ll learn all about growing food.

Freshly-Prepared Meals

Your little one’s tummy will be full and happy thanks to our onsite chef, who prepares a wide variety of fresh meals and snacks. All meals and snacks are included.

Meet the Team

Astley Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Sarah Jones

I have worked for the company for 19 years and I have over 26 years’ experience working with children. I qualified as a nursery nurse at the age of 18 where I gained my BTEC National Diploma in Nursery Nursing. As my passion for childcare grew, I took on supervisory roles where I really enjoyed sharing my knowledge with others. By the age of 24, I was given the opportunity to take on a managerial role, which I am truly thankful of. Over time, I have continued to develop my own personal development, gaining my Level 4 in Early Years, NVQ trainer and Assessor Qualification, Advanced Safe Guarding, First Aid and SENCO.

I have been married to my husband Chris for 17 years and I have two beautiful Children, Emily who is 16 and Freya who is 12.

For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to work with and support children as a profession. After completing my Level 3 Diploma in Childcare in 2013, I secured a Nursery Nurse role at Bright Horizons and have worked for the company ever since. In 2017 I was promoted to Room Supervisor and have worked alongside Management in 2 secondment posts over the last year.

I have gained valuable experience in these roles and have been able to develop my existing skillset in supporting children and their learning by completing CPD training courses. These include Paediatric First Aid, Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Team Leading, and a home learning course on “Understanding Young People’s and Children’s Mental Health”. I have also completed a Safeguarding course which resulted in my appointment as Designated Safeguarding Lead at the nursery.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
