Bright Horizons Astley Day Nursery and Preschool is placed conveniently on the junction of Higher Green Lane, Astley and the East Lancashire Road, otherwise known as the East Lancs.
This location allows easy access for parents working in Liverpool, St Helens, Wigan & Manchester. We take care of children from new born babies in our superbly equipped baby rooms to school age, where their final year with us would be in our preschool.
Our primary focus is the children and everything we provide and do has been designed through the eyes of a child; each brightly coloured room is a place of wonderment, and carefully fitted for the age group, where natural curiosity is encouraged and young horizons are allowed to expand. Your child will be guided through their early educational development by our staff, who are selected not just for their qualifications but also their loving and caring nature.
Our aim is to nurture your child during their formative years, giving them the social skills and confidence they need to make the transition into school life. Most importantly, we want your children to be content and have fun. We know that leaving your child can be difficult but we hope to make that easier for you.
Every child deserves the best start in life and we aim to deliver just that. The smiles on their faces will say it all.
Where possible we look to offer flexible booking patterns and a range of funding options, including the government's 30 hours funded childcare* provision. To request pricing and availability, please request a call back by clicking the button below.

I have worked for the company for 19 years and I have over 26 years’ experience working with children. I qualified as a nursery nurse at the age of 18 where I gained my BTEC National Diploma in Nursery Nursing. As my passion for childcare grew, I took on supervisory roles where I really enjoyed sharing my knowledge with others. By the age of 24, I was given the opportunity to take on a managerial role, which I am truly thankful of. Over time, I have continued to develop my own personal development, gaining my Level 4 in Early Years, NVQ trainer and Assessor Qualification, Advanced Safe Guarding, First Aid and SENCO.
I have been married to my husband Chris for 17 years and I have two beautiful Children, Emily who is 16 and Freya who is 12.
For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to work with and support children as a profession. After completing my Level 3 Diploma in Childcare in 2013, I secured a Nursery Nurse role at Bright Horizons and have worked for the company ever since. In 2017 I was promoted to Room Supervisor and have worked alongside Management in 2 secondment posts over the last year.
I have gained valuable experience in these roles and have been able to develop my existing skillset in supporting children and their learning by completing CPD training courses. These include Paediatric First Aid, Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Team Leading, and a home learning course on “Understanding Young People’s and Children’s Mental Health”. I have also completed a Safeguarding course which resulted in my appointment as Designated Safeguarding Lead at the nursery.
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
