Meet the Team

Trafford Manager

Emma Dunsmore

I have been working for Bright Horizons for 8 years now.  In those eight years, I have ticked off lots of things I have wanted to achieve during my career. The company has supported me all the way through my professional development. I began my journey as a Room Supervisor a preschool room and during that time I was completing a BA Honours Degree in Early Childhood Studies. My nursery manager was very experienced and she supported me in gaining the qualifications I desired. I was proud to gain a 2:1 in my degree! My manager then encouraged me to take on the Early Years Teacher Status. The company allowed me the opportunity to attend regular training and development days. After achieving the EYTS, I felt I was really able to guide and mentor others and I felt I needed a new challenge. Shortly after, I was promoted the Nursery Deputy Manager.

I am now a Nursery Manager and I am really enjoying the challenge. Every day is a new day in the nursery, meeting new families and building relationships with our children is amazing. I think the moment parents trust you with the most precious thing in the world to them, is the moment you realise just how important our jobs are.

I have gained so much experience working at Bright Horizons and I am looking forward to the future!

Trafford Day Nursery and Preschool Deputy Manager

Jessica Gill

I started working for kidsunlimited in 2009, working at our Manchester airport site as a unit co-ordinator. Throughout my 10 years working with the Bright Horizons family I have been fortunate enough to be supported in completing by BA Hons in Early years and Childhood Studies.

My career progression has been exciting as I have covered manager’s post on two occasions this was before I had my second child, I was then given the opportunity to take a slight pause in my career whilst my family was still growing, but was provided the balance of working part time supporting our sale site. This enabled me to support the management team in focusing on the delivery of Early Years.

As my eldest son in now in school I have the opportunity to cover a deputy manager’s maternity leave and supporting Emma in managing an outstanding setting here at Trafford. I have immersed myself in my role here at Trafford and thoroughly enjoy being part of this nursery family.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer.
