An Outstanding, Diverse Nursery in Trafford

You and your child will love our Outstanding nursery in Trafford, specifically designed to support your child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

Set in a vibrant borough of Manchester, our nursery boasts a large garden with plenty of themed spaces for children to improve their motor skills and expand their curiosity. Particular favourites include the maths and literacy shed and the sandpit. Each age group also has freeflow access to their own outdoor decking space, encouraging independent exploration.

We give preschoolers extra support and enrichment in subjects such as mathematics, art, reading and writing through an enriching Ready for School programme. This gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

Trafford nursery is a culturally diverse setting with staff who speak a variety of home languages alongside English. Children enjoy learning about the wider world and the traditions and cultures of their friends. We work closely with Trafford SENAS to foster a spirit of inclusion for all children, and hold a Trafford ‘Giving Voice’ award for our work in speech and language.

Trafford Day Nursery and Preschool is easily accessible from local bus routes. We have an onsite car park and buggy storage area to aid with drop-off and pick-up times.

We would love to meet you and your child, so book a visit today and we will show you all our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Meet the Team

St Mary's Hulme Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Stephanie Ruddock

I have worked for the company for 9 years starting as a nursery nurse before eventually becoming a nursery manager, a role which I have had for 3 years. I have an NVQ level 4 in Children’s care, learning and development and I am currently working towards a degree in Early Years Practice which is proving to be a really valuable experience.

Being a nursery manager is a very rewarding job and I enjoy getting to know the families and watching the children grow as they move through the nursery. Each day brings something different and fulfilling.

Jessica Gill Deputy Manager Trafford

Jessica Gill

I started working for kidsunlimited in 2009, working at our Manchester airport site as a unit co-ordinator. Throughout my 10 years working with the Bright Horizons family I have been fortunate enough to be supported in completing by BA Hons in Early years and Childhood Studies.

My career progression has been exciting as I have covered manager’s post on two occasions this was before I had my second child, I was then given the opportunity to take a slight pause in my career whilst my family was still growing, but was provided the balance of working part time supporting our sale site. This enabled me to support the management team in focusing on the delivery of Early Years.

As my eldest son in now in school I have the opportunity to cover a deputy manager’s maternity leave and supporting Emma in managing an outstanding setting here at Trafford. I have immersed myself in my role here at Trafford and thoroughly enjoy being part of this nursery family.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons
