Why Children Love Us

A place to grow

Bright Horizons’ nursery in Tytherington is a purpose-built nursery located on Tytherington Business Park, on the outskirts of Macclesfield. The highly qualified team helped the nursery secure a ‘Good’ rating in the latest Ofsted inspection, and children benefit from a broad range of facilities; from access to fields for outdoor teaching and rugby training sessions, to fully equipped sensory rooms and music sessions by trained instructors. Fees include all meals and snacks, branded nappies, nappy creams, bottles and formula baby milk as appropriate. We offer unique Ready for School Programme including Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians preparing children for their transition to school. A large car park is available for parents enabling safe drop offs and picks ups.

Meet the Team

Lorraine Roberts

I have been working in childcare for 19 years, starting with the company in 1998. I joined as a Nursery Nurse and over time worked hard and became a Room Leader, shortly afterwards stepping into the deputy role, before moving on to be a Nursery Manager. I have been a Nursery Manager for 14 years and thoroughly enjoy my job role. I enjoy working as part of a team and inspiring my staff team. Looking after so many different families and over time becoming one big family. I love watching the children grow and develop and achieve their full potential and the journey that they make to prepare them for school. It is a very rewarding job and I feel I am always learning, each day brings something different.

Helen Wood

I have been working in childcare for 29 years and hold the NNEB qualification. I have worked both in nurseries and as a nanny for a family for 10 years. I joined the Summerfields Nursery in Wilmslow in 2001 as a Unit Manager for the Toddler Room. In 2007 I moved to Tytherington as Deputy Manager.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
