A place to grow

Spitalfields Day Nursery and Preschool provides care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years. We are located right next to Spitalfields market, convenient for Liverpool Street Underground Station and Shoreditch High Street Station.

The highly qualified team at our nursery helped us secure an Outstanding rating in our latest Ofsted inspection.

Our children enjoy what the outdoors has to offer in our compact outdoor area with Gardening club and mud kitchen area. Children are further able to explore their surroundings and learn about the wider world through walks and trips out. The bright, well-designed building with designated rooms for each age group provides a welcoming and secure environment for babies and children to learn and play, including a large baby space with its own sleep area.

Children in the nursery are also well prepared to transition to school with the unique Ready for School Programme, which includes Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians.

We provide excellent nutritionally-balanced menus using fresh ingredients prepared by our own chef.

Meet the Team

Bright Horizons Spitalfields Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Eleonora Borzani

I have worked with children for the past 11 years and have continued to enjoy it very much.

It is a rewarding field to work in that requires continuous improvements as you never stop learning, at the same time it is very interesting as you meet children with different interests and passions and this aspect challenge you to change and adapt your everyday work with them.

I hold a Level 3 Childcare qualification and an Art and Design degree, I love to apply my knowledge and understanding in my day to day work and I find massively rewarding seeing improvements and positive changes in the children’s development. I bring my love for arts and craft, reading and theorists to the nursery to share with the children and inspire my team.

Bright Horizons Spitalfields Day Nursery and Preschool Deputy Manager

Grace Mathurin

I started working at Bright Horizons Spitalfields in 2009. I worked my way up from Baby Room Leader to Third in Charge. After 9 years, I took a break and returned in 2020 as deputy manager. I love seeing the children grow and develop throughout their time at nursery and ensuring we’re providing exceptional care and education.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
