Floral Place Nursery and Preschool

Why Children Love Us

A place to grow

Floral Place Nursery and Preschool provide care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years. We offer a warm, welcoming environment supporting the transition from home to nursery, and we provide excellent nutritionally-balanced menus using fresh ingredients prepared by our own chef. All of our fees are fully inclusive of wipes, nappies, forumla milk and meals. Children also have the opportunity to learn Spanish with Bilingual Beats, where children sing and listen to stories in Spanish. Our highly qualified team helped us to secure a Good rating from Ofsted in our latest inspection.

Meet the Team

Emma Chappell

Taking care of people, children or animals was something I knew I was always going to do for a living.

I worked with Special Needs children, prior to becoming a Primary Teacher but found myself missing caring for others.

Over 20 years later, I still find joy in caring for others. I am hugely passionate about helping our children to become happy, healthy and confident people but I am just as passionate about supporting our teams to greatness.

At the end of 2015, I gave birth to my son. As a first time Mum I didn’t really know what I was doing, despite all my years of working with children. It was overwhelming, but thankfully for the wonderful team at Floral Place, I found I could be a working Mum who remained passionate about wanting the best for all children. Now my son gets to be a part of something very special, and he just loves his time at Nursery. I truly feel lucky to have this amazing responsibility.

Lenka Novotna

I joined Bright Horizons 11 years ago as a bank staff member when my career in childcare first started. I completed my childcare qualifications within the company and due to my performance and desire,  was soon promoted to senior position Preschool Room Leader and in 2010 to Deputy Manager, just few months before my son was born. I can truly say that Bright Horizons has played a significant and very positive role in my son’s life.

Throughout the years with Bright Horizons I was able to attend many training courses to help me progress in my job role. I was also given opportunities to support other Bright Horizons nurseries and also manage Floral Place nursery as Acting Manager.

I have always wanted to work with children as you can really help them develop in their early years and see them develop and progress from when they start in the Baby Room until they graduate with us. It makes me proud to see them grow and be part of their lives.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
