City Child Nursery and Preschool

Why Children Love Us

A place to grow

City Child Day Nursery and Preschool offers childcare and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years with a warm, welcoming environment supporting the transition from home to nursery. Our highly qualified team helped us secure a Good rating in our latest Ofsted inspection.

Our nursery has bright and airy rooms with full length windows looking out into wildlife areas. The spacious outdoor garden, a bonus in a city centre setting, offers children the opportunity to extend their learning outdoors.

Alongside a range of carefully planned activities from quiet story time to role play, messy activities, singing and heuristic play, our children have access to a fantastic variety of extracurricular activities including French, Spanish, Song and Movement and Gardening and Cookery Club. These are all included in the fees and we have the option of Piano lessons for an additional fee. Our unique Ready for School Programme including Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians further prepares our children for their transition to school.

There are no hidden extras and our fees include all meals and snacks, branded nappies, wipes, creams and formula baby milk as appropriate.

Meet the Team

Georgie

I joined the Bright Horizons family in June 2016, I currently hold a level 3 childcare qualification and  studying a foundation degree in Childcare and Early Years through Bright University.

I have worked with children of all ages (0-16 years) over the last 10 years and enjoy being part of a team that helps each child grow and develop.

Fazeena Akhtar

I have been with City Child since 2010 and I am currently the deputy manager and room leader for baby room. I joined Bright Horizons as a room leader and quickly made my way up and was promoted to deputy manager helping to support and guide the team. I have an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and I completed my course in Nursery Management in 2014.
I previously worked for a City of London nursery where I began as a nursery nurse, being promoted to room leader. After a few years years I joined Bright Horizons, supporting the baby room, helping new children and families settle into the nursery environment. Since being promoted to Deputy Manager I have gained many skills to help with my leadership role and managing the nursery in my manager’s absence.
I have always enjoyed being in the childcare field and the sense of achievement it brings when you see the children in your care happy, confident and learning new skills ready for their school years - just knowing that I have been an important part of their lives makes me feel very privileged and proud.
I hope to continue my journey with Bright Horizons and hope to be a manager in the next few years, so that I may continue to grow and develop my skills, supporting and making a difference.
