Southgate Day Nursery and Preschool

Welcome to Bright Horizons Southgate, a lovely purpose-built nursery where our long-standing team provide children aged 3 months to 5 years with the care and early education they need for the best start in life. With onsite parking and a buggy park, our nursery is conveniently located just a 3-minute walk from Southgate tube station and offers longer opening hours from 7:30am to 6:30pm.

We provide an exceptional start to schooling life through our enriching and wellbeing-focused The Nurture Approach, designed by our Early Years specialists. This holistic, personalised approach supports each child's wellbeing, development, and progress, whether they are transitioning between rooms or preparing for school.

At Southgate we are fortunate to have six large, age-focused rooms. For children under 2, we have a beautiful sensory room on the ground floor with a large ball pool, a bubble machine, and cozy mood lighting. This area opens into the under 2s garden, allowing for fresh air and outdoor fun throughout the day. We also have a calming sleep room for peaceful naps.

Children over 3 can expand their learning with access to a computer and an iPad, sensory sand and water trays, and a construction area. In our preschool room, your child will develop all the skills they need to feel ready and prepared for school. Our Ready for School programme for older children focuses on essential skills in maths, reading, writing, and more, ensuring they are confident and prepared for their next big step.

Our two beautiful, separate gardens are tailored to different age groups. The under 2s garden includes a reading area, plenty of shade, and lots of room to explore. The large main garden features a water wall, a wooden teepee, balance beams, and ample space to ride trikes and run around. There is also a covered outdoor classroom providing shade and shelter in any weather.

Understanding the importance of community culture, we regularly take the children on walks to the local park, helping them become familiar with their local area and building their confidence outside the nursery.

While your child is busy exploring and having fun, we can keep you updated via our Family app. Available for all Bright Horizons parents, this will keep you connected with your child's day-to-day experiences and up to date as they develop during their time with us.
