Meet the Team

Katerina Barotsaki

I hold a Master’s Degree in Early Years Education from the Institute of Education University of London, as well as P.I.E from the University of Michigan.  I have dedicated my life to improve outcomes for organisations and develop and empower people through leading, coaching, mentoring, inspecting and teaching at different levels of education up to tertiary education. It inspires me to share my knowledge with others, and build in a corporate community of interest and of thinking. It motivates me to inspire teams to drive transformation through pedagogical leadership always by putting the child at the centre.
I took advantage of international research projects in Early Years and work opportunities which helped me to step out of my comfort zone and grow. The exposure to global perspectives and business operations in four different countries shine in my strategic leadership. I have a particular depth working with significant stakeholders in the childcare sector, but draw upon a variety of cross–industry experience as well.
Throughout my career I blended my knowledge from project and development management into childcare and treated every new experience as a learning experience. I stay energized professionally and personally through prioritization. I highly value diversity and pluralism, not only because it takes into consideration the one hundred languages that children have according to Loris Malaguzzi, but also it breeds better business as well as problem solving.

I have a genuine passion for radio shows, and among other memberships I value the executive one in the lodge of people that take the ‘im’ out of the’ impossible’.

Lauren Woodbrock

I enjoy being the deputy manager as well as the room leader in pre-school; I have worked at Teddies since 2006, although I have over 15 years’ experience of working in childcare. I started as a nursery nurse, attended a lot of training including the Growing Leaders programme and have now worked my way up to the leadership team.  My hobbies are music, baking cakes, shopping, looking after my nephews who are 3 and 7, and going to the cinema.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
