At Bright Horizons Portswood Day Nursery and Preschool, we provide exceptional care and early education for children aged 3 months to 5 years in a charming, converted house designed to inspire learning and confidence.

Conveniently located close to St. Denys train station and within the catchment of Highfield and Portswood schools, our nursery offers easy access for families. Onsite parking makes drop-offs stress-free and longer opening hours (7:30am–6:30pm) support busy parents.

Our bright, welcoming rooms are tailored to each age group. Babies enjoy a cosy, nurturing space with sensory resources and routines that mirror home life. Toddlers have room to explore and develop mobility, with secure outdoor access for under 2s. Preschoolers thrive in a newly refurbished room designed to build independence and prepare for school, supported by our Ready for School programme. Children also enjoy Boogie Mites music sessions, adding fun and creativity to their learning.

Every child benefits from our Nurture Approach, which prioritises emotional wellbeing and strong relationships, alongside the Bright Beginnings Curriculum, developed by Early Years specialists to build on the EYFS framework. This holistic programme supports confidence, creativity, and school readiness through structured learning and open-ended play.

Our large, natural garden offers free-flow access and age-specific areas, including a wooden climbing structure, growing zone, and staging area for budding performers. Indoors, high-quality natural resources from Community Playthings create inspiring spaces for play and learning.

With nutritious meals prepared by our onsite chef and essentials like nappies, wipes, formula, and sun cream included, we make busy mornings easier. Limited funded-only places are available.
