AN INSPIRING AND UNIQUE NURSERY IN READING

You and your child will love our home-from-home nursery in Reading, which offers a warm, welcoming environment designed to inspire your child and support their development from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

Our beautiful Inglewood Day Nursery and Preschool is a redeveloped and enhanced home full of character and bright, airy rooms. We have a redesigned, vibrant sensory room which caters for children of all ages and an expansive one-acre garden, with age appropriate areas for all our children to enjoy. There is a separate woodland adventure area for the children to explore, developing their teamwork and problem-solving skills.

The nursery is led by a Nursery Manager who’s had a vast career in Early Education, as well as Primary Education, and holds a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Award (SENDCO qualified). We have highly qualified staff members, including staff trained in Makaton and sign language, offering support to children who have additional needs. With qualified teachers and early years teachers, all with paediatric First Aid certificates, you can be sure your child will receive excellent care and an engaging learning experience from baby to preschool.

Inglewood nursery is the only nursery in the area with direct access to our own private, heated indoor swimming pool and we have two qualified swimming instructors providing small group swimming lessons. We have access to our own sports coach, offering sports such as tennis, football, rugby and obstacle courses to develop the children's fine and gross motor skills, as well as team skills. We also have a holiday club for children up to age of 12.

We have our own chef on site and all food is freshly cooked, nutritious and well balanced. The menu can be adapted to cater for allergies, food intolerances and preferences.

Our Inglewood nursery in Reading is in a beautiful suburban area surrounded by woodland and is conveniently located with excellent transport links to all major routes including the A329, M4 and A4.

Our experienced team would love to meet you and your little one, so book a visit today and we will show you everything our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Jemma Dove

My name is Jemma Dove and I am the recently appointed nursery Manager at Inglewood Day Nursery.

My philosophy as early years professional is to ensure that all children are provided with a safe, secure and challenging environment which stimulates their learning abilities and meets their unique individual needs. I implement this into practice by promoting and encouraging staff's professional development, building genuine and secure bonds with children and their parents whilst also working in partnership with our regulatory body.

Teamwork is also a fundamental part of my role to ensure the smooth running of an Early Years Setting.  In order to improve, enhance and develop the strong attributes of a successful setting it is vital that we regularly reflect on our practice. By embedding this into our everyday practice, enables us to identifying areas of strength and areas for improvement and implement this into our practice. Therefore your parent feedback is invaluable to me.

I have been working for Bright Horizons for just over 5 years, supporting many settings and was also part of the management team in a setting which was graded outstanding by Ofsted.  Holding a Bachelors Honours Degree in Early years allows be to adapt my skills to children’s individual learning styles.

Finally, I am a mummy to a four year old Daughter who also attended one of our Bright Horizons setting. This allowed me to understand and fully appreciate how must trust you are applying into us when choosing a nursery setting for your biggest pride and joys.

Samantha Pumffrey

My Early Years career has spanned over a 19 year period.

I started as a volunteer at a local Preschool and wanted to continue my passion for Early Years by qualifying as a Nursery Nurse gaining a Level 3 in Childcare.

I have enjoyed my time working as a nanny in Ireland and a play leader at a preschool in Ireland. This helped me to gain a wealth of knowledge and experience which led me to become a Nursery Manager for 3 years.

I have been able to use my experience to support my 2 boys who are flourishing and both came here to Inglewood Day Nursery and Preschool.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
