Why Children Love Us

A place to grow

Fleet Day Nursery and Preschool is located at The Key, and is in a great location for parents commuting into London. Our nursery is purpose built and located on a beautiful new estate, where the children often visit the nature reserve and enjoy trips to the local parks.

Children in the nursery are prepared to transition to school through our Unique Ready for School Programme which includes our bespoke Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians programmes. The nursery have a level 6 qualified Preschool Teacher among their experienced staff team. We have our own Soft Play Room, Dance Studio and three large separate gardens that the children can explore in all weathers.

We offer an array of extracurricular activities including Baby Yoga, Stretch and Grow, French and Spanish lessons for the children.

The nursery also benefits from an Active Athletes room, Creative Cooks room and Growing Scientists room, helping to foster a love of learning from an early age.

Our fees include all meals and snacks that are freshly prepared by our Chef, branded nappies, wipes, cream and formula baby milk as appropriate to ensure that transition from home to nursery is smooth.

Meet the Team

Kelly Smith

I joined the Nursery in June 2006 as a newly qualified practitioner working in the Baby Room. I quickly progressed to Room Manager and was successful in gaining a promotion to Junior Deputy Manager in 2008. I have held my current post as Deputy Manager supporting my team and families alike since 2010. I have an endless passion and energy for my role and work tirelessly across all age groups to ensure that great relationships are built with our children and their families, and that we deliver an exceptional standard of care and education.

I am the lead SENCo in the setting and I have supported numerous specific individual needs of many children helping them get ready for the next steps on their educational journey. During my time here I have been fortunate enough to be blessed with five boys of my own (Including twins!), being a working parent has helped me have an insight into the daily challenges faced when juggling small children and work commitments; an invaluable lesson in advising those around me.

Natalie Harvey

I joined the team in 2007 as a Room Manager before progressing to my current role. Across the years I have worked in all age groups broadening my experience, along with having 2 of my own children. Both my children have attended at the nursery which I’ve loved being able to work and be in the same environment as them. I supported the nursery as SENCO and I am currently the Health and Safety coordinator for the nursery. I am very passionate about my role and enjoy building relationships with new parents and being able to share my own experiences with them.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
