Our nursery in Maidenhead features five individual rooms tailored to each age group. Right from our Baby Room, with sensory equipment to develop gross motor skills, to the Preschool Room, we plan every activity carefully. Dedicated reading corners, art zones and construction areas allow children to explore their environment and stretch their imaginations.

The nursery also boasts a beautiful outdoor play area that includes two covered areas, so children can enjoy the fresh air come rain or shine. Your little one can use our large outdoor building blocks, read in our cosy all-weather nook or improve their balance and coordination on the tricycles.

Preschool children are well prepared for their transition to school with our Ready for School programme and dedicated room. We focus on Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians activities to develop their key academic skills, along with Creative Cooks, Growing Artists and more that build on children's creative interests.

Meet the Team

Maidenhead Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Kerry Tomaselli

I have been working in childcare for the last 14 years. I joined Asquith Nurseries, now part of the Bright Horizons Family, six and half years ago in Hounslow as Room Leader, progressing to be Third in Charge. I then transferred to Richmond Day Nursery as Assistant Manager where I also became the designated Health and Safety representative. This is one of my passions and I strive to ensure that a high standard of Health and Safety is provided for all children and staff.

I transferred to Maidenhead Nursery in July 2019 to start my journey as a nursery manager. I am extremely excited to be the Manager of our brand new Maidenhead Day Nursery and Preschool and working with local families and children.

Bright Horizons Maidenhead Sarah

Sarah Hemmins

I have been working in Childcare for 7 years. I began as an Apprentice Nursery Nurse and then following my Qualification in 2015 I was promoted to Nursery Nurse.

I started a new journey with a new private Nursery in 2016 and was soon promoted to a Preschool Room Leader and then Deputy Manager in 2017.     I started my Bright Horizons role in 2020 and have really enjoyed building and working with the staff team and welcoming all the children into our new and growing setting.

I enjoy all aspects of Nursery and Management roles including working within the rooms to ensure outstanding activities for all different age groups and also in the Management team ensuring the smooth running of the Nursery.

My main passion is working with staff to develop their confidence and practice to enable them to become the best practitioners they can be. This in turn aids the development of the children.

Bright Horizons Maidenhead Joanna

Joanna Lewin

I have worked in Childcare since 2014. Prior to this I worked as a Probation Officer for 7 years, working specifically Safeguarding children from domestic abuse.

Since beginning my journey in childcare, I have worked in three settings – a small independent private Day Nursery for 4 years, an Independent School Nursery for 1 year and now with Bright Horizons for 18 months.

I really enjoy working with children of all ages. Initially I led the Preschool Room at Maidenhead when we opened in October 2019 and more recently I have led the Baby One Room when it officially opened in September 2020.

I delight in seeing all of our children develop and love watching how their personalities flourish.

I also really enjoy my management role (Third in Charge) as it means I can be involved as part of the wider context of the Nursery. I wish to empower and encourage all our staff to be the best they can be and ensure that our Nursery offers outstanding care and practice for our little ones.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
