A place to grow

Abbeymore Nursery and Prechool provides care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Fees are fully inclusive of nappies, wipes and all extra-curricular activities.

All meals are nutritionally balanced and prepared using fresh ingredients by our own chef; we also hold a Five Star Food Safety rating.

We are very lucky to have a Pedagogical Leader at Abbeymore; Pennie has worked at Abbeymore for over 8 years and excelled at her role as Room Supervisor and so now leads our nursery team. Pennie supports all staff members and children to enhance our learning environments and ensure children are developing and progressing.

We strive to go above and beyond when offering our children different and extended learning opportunities and so they can reach their full potential. Our highly qualified nursery team helped us secure a Good rating from Ofsted.

Emma Gealy

I have worked with children for 24 years, with 10 years of management experience. I hold a NNEB diploma and a level 3 in management. I also hold certificates for first aid at work, paediatric first aid, safe guarding, safer recruitment and food hygiene level 2.

I have two children of my own aged 2 and 5.

Zoe Kiddle

I have been in childcare since 2002 and joined Abbeymore in 2009 as Deputy manager. I have a BA degree in children's learning and development. I enjoy being with the children and creating a stimulating environment for them to development and learn from. I maintain good relationships with the parents and within the nursery we operate an open door policy. I lead the staff team by example and expect the best high quality childcare.

Lacey Flynn

I have worked at Abbeymore for 10 years. I started off as a student, completing my Level 2 and 3 NVQ in Childcare and have gradually progressed up to my current role of Deputy Manager. I always knew I wanted to work in a nursery and I love being a part of the Abbeymore family.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
