Abbeymore Nursery and Prechool provides care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Fees are fully inclusive of nappies, wipes and all extra-curricular activities.
All meals are nutritionally balanced and prepared using fresh ingredients by our own chef; we also hold a Five Star Food Safety rating.
We are very lucky to have a Pedagogical Leader at Abbeymore; Pennie has worked at Abbeymore for over 8 years and excelled at her role as Room Supervisor and so now leads our nursery team. Pennie supports all staff members and children to enhance our learning environments and ensure children are developing and progressing.
We strive to go above and beyond when offering our children different and extended learning opportunities and so they can reach their full potential. Our highly qualified nursery team helped us secure a Good rating from Ofsted.

Request a call backI have been working in early years for 22 year, initially volunteering in my children’s pre-school but quickly working my way up to Nursery Manager.
Having gained Early Years Professional Status ten years ago, I have worked in a range of different setting from Voluntary run Pre-schools to being Head of Early Years at a Private School in Windsor.
My family and I have lived in Lower Earley for nearly 30 years, with all four of my children attending local schools, with my youngest daughter in her final school year, applying to university.
My previous experience and training as Head of Early years ensures we are providing quality education and experience for all the children in the setting but especially ensuring our children at Abbeymore are ready for their transition to schoo
I have worked for Bright Horizons for 12 years and at Abbeymore for 11 years as Deputy Manager.
Nine Years ago I completed an early years degree and gained Early Years Professional Status.
My passion in early years is working with the under two’s, supporting the children through their early stages with routines and weaning, and finding out how they learn.
I live in Reading with my husband and young son who attends the setting.
Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.
Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
