Meet the Team

Clare Greener-Simon

I began my career working with children in 1999 when my own four children were in school. I worked as a Teaching Assistant, Midday Supervisor and an After School Play worker. In June 2005, I began my Access to Teacher Training course and alongside this qualification I also gained my GCSE Biology and English. I progressed within my studies and completed my Foundation Degree Early Childhood Studies in 2009 and then I successfully completed my BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies in 2010.

I briefly continued my career in a local school, before joining the team at Starfish Day Nursery in 2012 as a Nursery Nurse, working in our toddler room. I was successful in being promoted to Preschool Principal in June 2012. I spent nearly two years in this role and thoroughly enjoyed using my knowledge, skills and experience to ensure all of the children in my care were nurtured towards their transition to school.

In April 2014, I applied for the role as Third in Charge and was successful in my interview. This role quickly turned into Acting Deputy Manager, until October 2014 when I was appointed the permanent position.  I worked closely alongside the Nursery Manager, until August 2016 when I became the Nursery Manager.  I enjoy my role within the nursery as I get to spend time with all the age groups of children as well as striving to provide a warm, enriched learning environment and support to all of my colleagues and families.

Laura Oliver

Hi my name is Laura and I have been working for Bright Horizons since September 2012. I gained my Level 3 Cache Diploma in 2008, and started working here straight after. I have been luckily enough to progress within the company and I have successfully managed a number of roles within the nursery including managing the baby room, toddler room before becoming Deputy Manager in 2016.

I enjoy the diversity of my role, as I am able to support Clare the Nursery Manager as well as working with the children and supporting my team. If you cannot find me at my desk you will often find me in the rooms with my team enjoying activities and playing with the children, especially the Puddle Ducks room.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
