A place to grow

Welcome to our children's day nursery in Surbiton. Our nursery is currently rated 'Good' by Ofsted. Our nursery is set in a spacious, converted Victorian detached house in the residential area of Surbiton, within the catchment of schools in Surbiton and Tolworth areas. The stunning rooms are full of age-specific, specialist wooden furniture and resources.

Located just a 10-minute walk from Surbiton rail station and with ample parking, the nursery is ideal for parents who commute each day. We are open 51 weeks of the year from 7.00am to 6.30pm. We will be delighted to welcome you to Surbiton day nursery & pre-school. Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal nursery tour at a time to suit you.

We use the EYFS framework to promote and support education, care and development. We have a touch screen computer in our pre-school room which helps children to prepare for school using our chosen literacy and numeracy programs. We run growing enhancement programs as part of our nursery day which include growing readers, writers and mathematicians. Our adventure garden has its own Hobbit House, stage area, nature garden and wobbly road track all set within separate age appropriate areas, with a separate garden for babies and toddlers.

Our delicious healthy and nutritious food, sourced from trusted suppliers is prepared and cooked on site by our Chef who has a 5* EHO rating for food safety and hygiene. Our menus change seasonally and cater for all dietary requirements.

Our children take part in a range of extracurricular activities including yoga, tiny tunes music classes and sporty minis.

Carlie Strong

I have been working in nurseries for over 14 years as well as working overseas in childcare prior to that. I have worked with children of all ages from babies’ right through to teens. I qualified with a CACHE Diploma Level 3 in 2005 and since then, I gained my Early Years Teacher Status in 2014 after completing my BaHons Degree in Early Years and Teaching 2012.

I love seeing the children develop and learn new things during their journey at the nursery. We strive to create a relaxed home from home feeling in the nursery, together with all the nursery team providing a stimulating safe environment enabling all children to reach their full potential. I am passionate about using my knowledge to support staff to ensure that high standards of childcare are paramount.

Zoe Randles

I have been at our Surbiton nursery for 4 years now and have used the skills gained during my Early Years Teacher Status qualification to enable the children to learn and develop through the range of activities we offer. I have been based in our preschool room and embed the principles of the Early years Foundation Stage curriculum within the room to support and prepare children for the transition to school.

Jessica Bruce

I have worked in childcare for many years now supporting children in their development from babies through to school. I have worked particularly with the younger age group in our baby room during the initial transition into nursery life, I love this age because you learn so much with each child and how they grow as well as the parents as we work so closely together. I enjoy passing on everything I have learnt to my team and demonstrating all of the wonderful things we can explore with the children.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
