A wonderful nursery in Teddington where your child can thrive

Based in a beautiful Victorian school building, Teddington Cedar Road Day Nursery and Preschool is an Ofsted Good rated nursery, where the team are committed to providing the best care and early education to children aged 3 months to 5 years.

Inspiring Rooms

Your baby will love our warm and cosy baby room, where we follow individual routines to ensure babies feel at home right from the start.

The nursery room is the ideal setting for your child to start exploring their own personalities and interests. Age-appropriate activities and learning opportunities are carefully planned to aid their development.

In our toddler room, your child will enjoy access to their own garden throughout the day, allowing them to make their own choices.

Getting Ready for Their Next Steps

To ensure your little learner is confident to start school, preschoolers take part in our Ready for School programme, which structures and brings into focus maths, reading, writing and other essential skills they need to get ready for school. Preschoolers are taught by a specialist Early Learning teacher, who works in partnership with local schools.

A Bright Beginning for Every Child

Designed by our Early Years specialists, your little one will get the best start to their schooling life through our enriching and wellbeing-focused Bright Beginnings Curriculum.

Building on the foundations of the government's EYFS curriculum, it combines a wide range of activities to nurture and develop the skills your child needs to flourish and reach their full potential. This holistic yet personal approach supports each child's wellbeing, development, and progress - whether that's moving rooms or preparing them for school.

Children also enjoy Boogie Mites music sessions where they can learn about the world through music and song.

You can stay updated with your child's day through our Bright Horizons Family app.

Exploring and Learning in the Garden

Your child will love spending time in our large, landscaped garden, which is divided into age-specific areas, ensuring your little one always has access to the best resources and activities for their development.

With a sandpit, racing track, climbing frame and so much more, the nursery children find fun and learning in the natural world around them.

All-Inclusive Care and Convenience

  • Nutritionally balanced meals. Our all-inclusive care extends to snacks, formula, nappies, wipes, and creams
  • 'Every Child a Talker' scheme to promote language skills
  • Our nursery is located close to Teddington train station
  • Limited funded-only places available
  • Within the catchment areas of Teddington, Hampton, Hampton Wick and Twickenham schools.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
