The team at Teddington Cedar Road Day Nursery and Preschool are experienced and passionate about the care and education they give.
Our day nursery was established in 1989 and is based in a Victorian school building. The grounds and rooms give a fantastically light, airy and calm feeling to the nursery. The preschool, nursery rooms and baby unit all have well-equipped outside areas and resources and are used as extensions of our classrooms.
An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond. The nursery celebrates the diversity of cultures and family backgrounds in our groups through photographic images, environmental words in the different languages of the nursery and many planned activities. We have an experienced catering team that provide home cooked meals, supporting many diverse diets and high standards, as shown in our ‘5 Star’ Rating. We are passionate about quality communication and interaction with our children and are proud to be following the ‘Every Child A Talker’ scheme, which includes implementing strategies for promoting language skills, auditing our environments and supporting our team in specific training.
The day nursery and preschool is within the catchment areas of Teddington, Hampton, Hampton Wick and Twickenham schools.

Request a call backI have worked at Teddington Cedar Road since September 2012. I hold a level 3 qualification and Level 2 in Team Leading and Management. As a deputy, I am friendly and approachable, I am very passionate about ensuring the motive and drive for my team to deliver outstanding childcare services as well as providing a safe, happy and welcoming environment for our families.
Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.
Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
