Welcome to Poppetts nursery in Shenfield, where our qualified and enthusiastic staff are dedicated to the care and early education of all children aged 3 months to 5 years.
Your child will thrive at our Poppetts nursery. Every fun activity is carefully planned to draw on key skills such as mathematics, language and communication, sensory and intellectual development, physical activity, and social skills. We give your child the best start in life and help them to develop the confidence they need for their next steps.
In our Baby room, babies from 3 to 24 months are cared for in a stimulating yet calm environment. Filled with cushions, cosy areas, feeding chairs, sleeping pods, and age-appropriate resources, your little one will enjoy happy days with lots of cuddles, exciting activities, and attention as they grow.
Our Toddler room is for children aged 20 to 36 months and is designed to encourage your child to learn basic skills. They'll love getting stuck into messy play, arts and crafts, baking, gardening, and lots more. Toddlers can also enjoy exploring their wider community, including nature walks and trips to the greengrocer and local library.
Your preschool child will be kept busy in their dedicated room, filled with everything they need to prepare them for school. As well as our daily activities, we offer specialist sessions such as yoga, drama, dance, football, and cooking, all taught by external qualified teachers.
As school-age approaches, your child will be encouraged to participate in small groups to spend focused time concentrating on activities that cover KS1 subjects in a fun and enthralling way.
Your little one will love exploring our all-weather garden, which is directly accessible to all rooms. The garden is a safe and comfortable area to enjoy and is fitted with safety flooring and astroturf, so your child can have fun come rain or shine.
There are lots of resources for your little one to explore, including a sandpit, pebble construction area for mini builders, a mud kitchen, water troughs, climbing frames, dens, chalkboards, and bikes and scooters to encourage physical activity.
Your green-fingered tot can also have fun making discoveries in our planting area, where they'll get hands-on experience growing plants and herbs.
To ensure your child enjoys tasty, well-balanced, and healthy meals to give them the energy their need to learn and play, our menus are based on the advice of a qualified nutritionist.
All meals and snacks are prepared onsite by our very own chefs and include lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Fresh drinking water and healthy snacks are available to all children throughout the day.
As we are situated on the grounds of Long Ridings Primary School, we offer breakfast (7:45am - 9am) and an after-school club (3pm - 6pm) during term time for school children.
Offering a nutritious breakfast, and access to the Pavilion, which is fully equipped with table football, a book corner, arts and crafts, a smart TV, and lots more, there is plenty to keep your child busy and entertained.
Our qualified staff will collect your child after school and escort them to the Pavilion, where we also encourage completion of homework.
