A friendly and nurturing nursing in Epping, St Margaret’s Hospital

Families love our beautiful, purpose-built Epping Day Nursery and Preschool which has been rated 'Good' by Ofsted. Every aspect has been specifically designed to meet the needs of your child's development, from 3 months to 5 years.

A Bright Beginning

Our research-led Bright Beginnings Curriculum will give your little one the very best start. Your child's wellbeing is our highest priority and we know that children learn best when they feel safe and secure.

Building on the foundations of the government's EYFS curriculum, it combines a wide range of activities to nurture and develop the skills your child needs to flourish and reach their full potential. This holistic yet personal approach supports each child's development and progress - whether that's moving rooms or preparing them for school.

Our unique Growing enhancements introduce your child to maths, reading, writing, and art, and our Ready for School programme further supports their skills and knowledge to prepare them for school and beyond. Stay updated with your child's day via the Bright Horizons Family app to see what they have been enjoying.

Inspiring Natural Curiosity and Exploration

At Epping Day Nursery and Preschool, we support each developmental stage with age-appropriate rooms.

Our under 2s enjoy the Explorers room with a variety of fun activities and toys to help them learn through play whilst children aged 2 years and above in our Adventurers room have direct, free-flow access to our large, secure garden, allowing for independent exploration of the learning opportunities there.

Our children love being nestled among trees, enjoying a variety of outdoor activities including those within our Active Athletes programme.

  • Delicious, nutritionally-balanced meals are freshly prepared by our onsite chef.
  • Snacks, formula, nappies, creams and wipes are also provided, so there's less to pack on those busy mornings.

Meet the Team

Epping nursery manager

Carole Byrne

I have been at Bright Horizons in Epping since 2011. I progressed from Nursery Nurse to Room Leader. I took up the position of Deputy Manager in 2013 and then in 2014 became Nursery Manager.

Prior to my nursery career I worked in Primary School Education mostly in reception and Key Stage 1. I have attended University and took my B.A. in Education and went on to to gain my Early Year's Teacher Status.

I am passionate about passing on my knowledge and training to help develop and upskill my staff, who in turn, I aim to inspire a love of using play to help children learn.

Alternative Female Manager Silhouette

Kirby-Jo Abbott

I have been a part of the Bright Horizons Family for 6 years. Starting as a Nursery Nurse, progressing to Room Leader and Third in Charge and now I have been successful in securing the role of Deputy Manager.

My passion is SEND and I feel privileged to have played a major part of some of our children’s development in this area and building a relationship with the whole family and external agency workers.

I feel very fortunate to have a career in a job that I love and contributing to the Education, Development and health and safety of the children, as well as supporting the Manager to maintain the nursery running effectively for children, families and the staff.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
