I have been working at Eton Manor since 2007. I first joined this nursery as a student and was lucky enough to secure a job here. My journey began as a Nursery Practitioner. Soon, I was promoted to a Room Manager of our two pre-school rooms. This was a new and exciting challenge for me as I had to create the enabling environments, support the transitions for school and share my experience of letters and sounds and pre-school elements with the team. I have, along with my team, created a magical preschool setting where children and families feel comfortable, understanding the element of learning through play.
In 2013, I had the opportunity to join the management team as the third in charge of the nursery. During this journey I was supported in learning about other aspects within the nursery setting, where I took on additional roles and responsibility. I am an extremely passionate Nursery Nurse who always strives for the best in myself and the team. I have trained staff to be confident in the EYFS and they are now producing high quality learning journeys.
I have been the Deputy Manager since 2015 at Eton Manor and my journey here has definitely helped me to support my Manager in working towards that outstanding provision. I have attended current community meetings to ensure we are keeping up to date with the new legislations. I am responsible for making sure the nursery has a strong culture of behaviour safety as the Health and Safety Officer. My hard work and motivation has secured us Green on our recent inspection.
I have been in the Childcare industry since 2002 and have a level 3 in childcare along with a level 5 in Leadership for the Children and Young People’s Workforce - Early Years (Advanced Practice). I love to see children in a safe and secure environment where they have opportunities to explore, to express and use their imagination through play. Along with them challenging themselves to embrace their own individual learning and development, so that each little one flourishes and grows to the best that they can be. I am very passionate in sharing my wealth experience to support my team. To see them grow to their full potential thus giving them the skill set to deliver and maintain excellence in their work ethic to create a high quality learning environment that we can all be proud of.
