Chelmsford Day Nursery and Preschool is a beautiful purpose built setting for children aged 3 months to 5 years. The nursery is conveniently located on the new Beaulieu Park development in the north of Chelmsford, just 2 miles from the town centre.

There are five individual rooms, each tailored to the children’s different age groups as well as a naturally inspiring outdoor play area where your child can explore and flourish. We also have a dedicated outdoor classroom for our 3 – 5 year olds providing exciting outdoor learning opportunities.

Bright Horizons offer unique growing programmes including Growing readers, writers, mathematician’s and scientists. We also have a focus on ICT for our older children including an interactive touch table and ‘bluebots’ which introduce early programming skills to prepare your child for the next step in their education.

The nursery also provides nutritionally balanced meals, prepared fresh each day by our onsite chef! Our fees are fully inclusive, we provide all nappies, wipes, creams, formulas and meals.

Tom Diaper

Tom started working with children in 1997 as part of his Duke of Edinburgh award. He worked in nurseries and out of school clubs in a variety of roles, before taking a break from childcare to work as cabin crew for several major airlines, progressing his career to Cabin Crew Manager and Trainer.

Returning to children's services saw Tom working in a variety of roles including Development and Quality support on behalf of the local authority, Project Managing childcare initiatives such as childminding development, extended schools and early help. Most recently, prior to his role at Bright Horizons, Tom was a Regional Manager for a large children's charity, supporting nurseries, out of school clubs, youth services for the armed forces and early help targeted projects. When the charity closed suddenly, Tom decided to take the opportunity to return to nursery and work directly with children and families.

Tom is qualified to Level 4 with a Higher Diploma in Early Years, alongside Level 3 training in Playwork. He firmly believes that children should remain at the very centre of everything that we do and is a strong advocate for child led learning and effective family partnerships, supporting a child to achieve their very best potential.

Lyndsey Kemp

I have a true love for working with children. I qualified in 2002 after completing my National Nursery Nursing Diploma (NNEB) Level 3 Childcare and Education award.

During my 16 years working with children, I have worked as a Nursery Nurse, a Super-Nanny working worldwide, as a Sleep Trainer to over 300 children and as a Behaviour Management Training Advisor.  I have also worked for a large children’s charity supporting the local community in child development.

Currently I am completing my degree in Childcare, Leadership and Management and is set to complete this in 2018. I am very excited to use my skills to help nurture the Chelmsford team to provide the best individual care for every child who comes to the nursery.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
