Meet the Team

Claire King

I joined Milton Park nursery in 2000 after newly qualifying as a nursery nurse. During my first stay at the nursery I managed both the baby and toddler rooms, before being promoted to deputy manager in 2007 at another Bright Horizons nursery in Oxford. I returned to Milton Park as the nursery manager in 2012 to lead the team and return to my roots. In July 2014 I welcomed the birth of my own daughter, who returned with me to the nursery after my maternity leave. In 2015, I celebrated 15 years’ service with the company, and have and continue to enjoy every second of it. I think what inspired me the most to work in childcare is my mum who also worked in childcare, making me want to help young children to reach their full potential also.
I enjoy leading a team to achieve success and provide the highest quality care, interactions and education.

Stephanie Matthews

I joined Milton Park Nursery in 2010, after qualifying with my Level 3 in Childcare and Education. I started as a nursery nurse and then progressed to manage the Toddler unit. After a year I became Third in Charge, supporting Claire and the management team. Soon my career progressed to becoming Deputy Manager. I have a strong passion for childcare and can always remember wanting to work with children from a young age. I love to help make a difference to the children in our care, watching them develop and grow on their journey through nursery is so rewarding!

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
