Meet the Team

Claire Sellwood

I am Claire Sellwood, (Centre Manager) and I started at Little Stars Didcot in July 1998 as a Nursery Nurse in our 2-3’s and Preschool rooms, before becoming Deputy Manager in 2000. I was promoted to Centre Manager in March 2004, and currently have a dedicated staff team of 24. Through my time at Little Stars I have supported STFC to transition to a 56 place nursery and then again in August 2009 to open a 63 place nursery.

My qualifications include City and Guilds Certificate in Family and Community Care, Ed Excel National Diploma in Early Childhood Studies, NVQ level 3 in Customer service, and The Early Years Foundation degree through the Open University. I am a mother to my daughter Lily born in September 2014 and I can be found in the nursery Monday to Thursday.

Mary

Mary has a BTEC National Diploma in Childhood Studies and has worked in the nursery since January 2007. Mary has 18 years childcare experience and also has two children of her own named Lewis and Neve. Mary works from Tuesday to Friday and covers staff absences Tuesdays and Wednesdays and is office based on Thursday and Friday. She recently stepped up to Acting Manager from December 2014- September 2015 to cover Claire’s maternity leave.

Hannah

Hannah has a BTEC National Diploma in Childhood Studies and has worked in the baby room at Little Stars since July 2000.  She started as a Nursery Nurse in the baby room and has worked her way up to Room Leader. Hannah also has experience as Deputy Manager, and steps up when required.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
