Why Children Love Us

A place to grow

Long Road Day Nursery and Preschool is a purpose built nursery situated on the grounds of Addenbrookes Hospital. The nursery has five beautiful spacious rooms and attached to four of them is access to our great outdoor space with gardens, play areas that fill the children with joy. Children benefit from indoor and outdoor activity, supervised at all times by the experienced and passionate staff team at Long Road. We pride ourselves on the ‘Good’ we achieved in our Ofsted Inspection and we strive to encourage learning in all of our children through our unique Growing Programmes and extra activities.

Meet the Team

Jemma Payne

I started with Bright Horizons in June 2009 as the Nursery Manager at Bunnybrookes, our sister nursery based at Addenbrookes. I then moved over to Long Road as the Manager in July 2011. I have a Level 3 NVQ and am one of the Designated Child Protection Officers and Paediatric First Aider. In my spare time I like to exercise and enjoy dinning out with friends and family.

Sarah Heil

I am currently the Acting Deputy Manager and also support the Inventors Room. I hold a Level 3 NVQ qualification, am one of the Designated Child Protection Officers and also a Paediatric First Aider. My three year old son attends the nursery with me two days a week and loves his time here. I enjoy spending quality time with my little boy watching him grow. We like to go to the park, feed the ducks and visit grandparents and cousins

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 10 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
