Welcome to Saffron Walden Crocus Early Years Centre, where our team of dedicated and nurturing staff support children's development from 3 months to 5 years. Our Ofsted Good-rated nursery is situated on the grounds of Saffron Walden County High School, in a beautiful rural location, with lots of space to explore both indoors and out.

Inspiring Rooms to Learn and Play

Our lovely and cosy baby room is for little ones aged 3 months to 2 years and is the perfect space for our younger children to play, discover, and be nurtured. We follow your child's home routine as closely as possible to ensure the transition from home to nursery runs smoothly. This room also benefits from having its own sleep room for quiet naps.

In our toddler room, 2 to 3-year-olds start gaining their independence as they explore their bright and colourful room. Activities are planned around the children's interests, giving them lots of opportunities to have fun in their large and enriching room.

Our busy preschool room is where your little learner will discover all the skills they need to feel confident and prepared to start school.

Children also enjoy Boogie Mites music sessions where they can learn about the world through music and song.

A Bright Beginning for Every Child

Your little one will get the best start to their schooling life through our enriching and wellbeing-focused Bright Beginnings Curriculum, designed by our own Early Years specialists.

Building on the foundations of the government's EYFS curriculum, Bright Beginnings combines a wide range of activities to nurture and develop the skills your child needs to flourish and reach their full potential. This holistic yet personal approach supports each child's wellbeing, development, and progress – whether that's moving rooms or preparing them for school.

Getting Ready for Their Next Steps

To ensure your little learner is confident to start school, our older children take part in our Ready for School programme, which brings structure and focus to maths, reading, writing, and other essential skills they need to get ready for school.

Outdoor Adventures

Our beautiful garden space is surrounded by an inspiring, rural environment. All of the rooms enjoy freeflow access to the garden, allowing your little one to explore the outdoors throughout the day.

The garden is divided into age-specific areas and includes a wide variety of exciting activities, from slides and trikes to tunnels and an allotment area.

All-Inclusive Care and Convenience

• Nutritionally-balanced meals are prepared by our onsite chef. Our all-inclusive care extends to meals, snacks, nappies, wipes, formula and creams.
