I have been with the company for 11 years. I started working at Long Road as a nursery assistant and I worked my way up to Deputy Manager. I then transferred to Ely as deputy manager in 2011 and a year later, I was promoted to manager. I have always had a passion for children and want the best outcomes for them. I love working with families and seeing the children develop and grow.
I starting working with the company from 2002, where I started as a level 2 nursery nurse. I trained on the job to complete my level 3 NVQ, a short while after, I was promoted to the role of room supervisor in the Early Pre-School room. In 2011, I left the nursery to gain experience in another setting. I returned to the nursery in 2012 as the baby room leader and completed my NVQ level 4 in child care, the following year, I was promoted to Third in charge of the nursery.
I thoroughly enjoyed my role as a room leader but was looking for a new challenge so I applied for the role of deputy manager and I was successful. I have been the deputy manager at Ely Day Nursery since October 2014 and I thoroughly enjoy every aspect of my job- I wouldn’t change it for the world.
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
