Request a call backI began my childcare career at Bright Horizons Andover (formerly Yellow Dot) in 2014 where I worked my way from apprentice to Third in Charge. I achieved my Level 3 qualification and
continued to study for a further three years gaining my Level 6 BA Honours degree in Early Childhood. In 2020 I joined one of our Bright Horizons client nurseries as an Assistant Manager where I worked with a terrific team introducing loose parts and natural resources as well as creating a nature nursery programme and developing their outdoor spaces.
I believe in the importance of outdoor play and learning from real life opportunties and experiences. I am passionate about training and education and I will be continuing working with my amazing team so that we can support each and every child to be happy, healthy and creative in their own way.
I have worked with children since 2014. I gained my level 3 at Wiltshire college and then worked at a local nursery to me in Wiltshire. I then went to work at a nursery in Wilton which had a farm and a forest school, which is were my love for the outdoor classroom began. I worked up to the role of Room Leader before taking the next step in my progression in 2018 at a small nursery in Andover, I then joined the Bright Horizons family in September 2021.
I am very passionate about the outdoors, child lead learning and real life experiences. I look forward to creating magical moments and new memories at Chandlers Ford every day.
Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.
Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
