Request a call backI have had an amazing 38 years career within the childcare sector and still continue to enjoy it to this very day. My roles have varied from starting out as a nanny to a Regional Manager for near on 15 years. Bracknell is my home town where I have lived for 35 years so I know the community very well as well as the local surrounding areas.
I currently hold a level 4 diploma in childcare and education, along with business skills and still continue to enjoy taking on more training at every possibility. My passion is within development and I love nothing more to coach and mentor my team to ensure we offer the best outstanding opportunities and outcomes to children at all times along with allowing them to grow and develop at their own pace.
I am married and have my own grown up family and two adorable grandchildren. My hobbies include cooking, walks, and as much family time as I can get.
I have been with Bright Horizons since 2001. I have completed my NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Childcare and Education and also my advanced Diploma in Childcare and Education. I started work as a Room Manager in the 2-3 year old room and then progressed to Deputy Nursery Manager.
I have seen many families go through our nursery and have enjoyed being a part of the children’s development. I have two young children, one of which attends Dolphin Bracknell Nursery.
I work alongside the Nursery Manager to deliver the highest quality care and education for children and families. I also regularly spend time in the nursery rooms observing and mentoring staff in addition to spending valuable time with the children.
I have worked within the childcare sector for 14 years. I started out in my career as a nursery assistant where I also attained my NVQ LEVEL 3 in Childcare and Education.
I have experienced different roles within my career ranging from nannying to my current position as third in charge. Along the way I have gained a great deal of knowledge through experiences caring for children aged between 3 months and 12 years of age, and I am passionate about providing children with a safe and secure environment, enriched with a wide range of learning opportunities, that is supported by caring and knowledge staff.
I have an amazing family who support me to achieve the best outcomes in my career and two beautiful daughters aged 6 years and 7 months.
Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.
Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
