You and your child will love Barnes Day Nursery and Preschool, designed to support your child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years. Our experienced and nurturing staff guide exciting learning activities to help your little one reach their full potential.

Our purpose-built nursery rooms feature age-appropriate play and learning resources. The baby room has plenty of engaging sensory toys, a safe environment for exploring, and benefits from a separate sleep room, milk kitchen and nappy-changing room. Our toddler room is full of new adventures, where children find their feet and begin building their independence. Painting, loose parts play, construction and messy play are all on the agenda as they learn how to navigate the world.

Preschoolers enjoy discovering new passions and interests as they gain the skills needed to progress to school. Our Ready for School programme helps to develop their early maths and literacy skills, while encouraging them to pursue their creative side through Creative Cooks, Growing Artists and Growing Gardeners.

Barnes nursery has a small library area, which doubles as a quiet space to enjoy a book and, at other times, a music room to explore sound and rhythm with instruments.

Outside, we have two large gardens, split into a baby garden and a toddler and preschool space. There are trees, a covered seating area, a little bridge and space for tricycles and balance toys.

Our nursery in Barnes is located south of Hammersmith Bridge, with good transport links to local bus routes. We offer all-inclusive fees, with all meals, snacks, nappies and wipes included – meaning you’ve got less to pack on a busy morning! All of the delicious food is freshly cooked every day by our own onsite chef.

Our staff would love to meet you and your child, so book a visit today and we will show you all our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Meet the Team

Barnes Anna Drummie Nursery Manager

Anna-Leigh Drummie

My career in childcare started at our Richmond nursery. After a short while I was promoted to a room leader and then transferred to Barnes to become the Deputy Manager. During my time working at Barnes I have found my passions that I can share with the children which are encouraging exploring through play and assisting children to develop their senses through sensory development.

Barnes Manager Jessica

Jessica Burton

Hi my name is Jessica.   I have been working for Bright Horizons since June 2018.   I started as a baby room leader and then transitioned to toddlers and preschool.

I have a wide range of  experience with all age groups.  In 2020 I was promoted to Deputy Manager and now support with the day to day running's of the nursery along side supporting the staff and children in the rooms.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
