Why Children Love Us

A place to grow

Holland Park Day Nursery and Preschool (formerly Ladbroke Grove Day Nursery and Preschool) provides care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years. We have been rated Good in our latest Ofsted inspection.
We are located five minutes’ walk from Holland Park and Notting Hill Stations and our entrance into Ladbroke Square gardens, which is a private garden, has an entry code to gain entry and exit. Convenient visitor parking at the front of the nursery enables safe drop off and pick up times.

Our bright, spacious and fully resourced rooms allow the children to free flow between the indoors and the outdoor environment, plus our Art Studio is where children can be creative and expressive. The large rooftop garden and 3 dedicated outdoor areas allow children of all age groups to explore the world around them.

We offer a fantastic variety of extracurricular activities including Teddy Tennis, Bilingual Beats, Ballet, Hip-Hop Tots and Theatrebugs, which are available for all children. A unique Ready for School Programme including Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians prepares children for their transition to school. Our fees include all meals and snacks, branded nappies, nappy cream, bottles and formula baby milk as appropriate.

Meet the Team

Chelsea Garrett

My name is Chelsea Garratt and I am the Manager of the Holland Park Day Nursery and Preschool.

I have been working in childcare for the past 10 years, starting my career at the age of 19 in our Wandsworth branch. Since then I have had the pleasure of managing Chelsea Day Nursery and Active Learning Fulham. I have also got to experience two Ofsted inspections receiving Good and an Outstanding ratings.

I was born in Cyprus and lived there for 2 years, due to my father being in the British Army. I then moved to London and was raised in Chelsea barracks. My family is originally Irish but majority of my family now live in London. I have a great relationship with my family and love to spend time with them as much as I can. I started my career wanting to be a paediatric nurse and completed my first year of training, however during my break I took up a position in Wandsworth Day Nursery where I fell in love with working with children in the Early Years.

I am very passionate about the children in my care and will always make decisions based on ‘will it benefit the children’. I also push my staff to the best of their ability, encouraging training and growth.

Aisha Barrett

My name is Aisha and I am the Deputy Manager for the Holland Park Day Nursery and Preschool.I have been working in childcare since 2011, I started off as a bank member of staff whilst carrying out my studies at university. I then progressed to a Nursery Nurse a few weeks after starting. The role of Baby Room Leader became available at Ladbroke Grove soon after and with no hesitation I took it. I then became third in charge in 2013 and moved to work as the Room Leader in the Toddler room, I then became the Deputy Manager in 2015.I have enjoyed every moment of working with children and helping them blossom, I still enjoy going into the rooms and joining in some of the fun fulfilled activities that the carers plan for the children. I have also enjoyed sharing my knowledge and experience to support staff, parents and new children. I achieved my Level 3 qualifications in 2009 at Hammersmith and West London College and I then went on to achieve my Degree in Education Studies at The University of Greenwich in 2011.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
