Asquith Wilmington Day Nursery & Pre-School

Why Children Love Us

A place to grow

Wilmington day nursery is a 'day nurseries top 10' Wilmington children's day nursery is located in the village of Wilmington, near Dartford in Kent, and is set in the grounds of two secondary schools. We've received 3 consecutive Ofsted 'Outstanding' ratings, won Netmums 'favourite day nursery' in the Childcare Awards 2014, won the NMT 'Nursery Indoor Learning Environment' Award 2015 and have been awarded a Top 10 Nursery in the South East from daynurseries.co.uk for two years running.

Located close to Bexley, Dartford and Crayford stations, the nursery is a five-minute drive from the A2 and the M25.

The children's nursery has been established for over ten years and we are very proud of our long-serving nursery staff. Many of our families come to the nursery on recommendations and it is often reassuring when parents arrive and meet those same members of staff.

The children's nursery can take 103 children from three months to five years. We have five rooms: a baby/toddler room, nursery room and pre-school. The nursery provides a friendly, family feel where everyone knows each other. Our brand new state-of-the-art Pre-School academy is now open, following a £1.2m investment.

The nursery also has two outside areas, including one specifically for the under-twos. Both areas have an all-weather surface, meaning the ground is safe in all conditions.

The outside area also attracts lots of wildlife, providing many learning opportunities for the children. The nursery works in conjunction with the parents, inviting them to share their work experiences with the children, offering lending libraries for the families and inviting them to open days at weekends.

This is so that working parents have more time to look through learning journals, speak to key people and, of course, play!

We also offer eight-week childcare 'settling in' sessions for new parents and children. This enables families to build a relationship with the nursery prior to the child actually starting. We provide parents with regular updates on their child's progress as this offers reassurance and comfort at a key time.

Our babies and toddlers have a daily contact book so parents and the key people can share thoughts and information. Our quarterly parents evenings are a further opportunity to strengthen the partnership between parents and carers.

We will be delighted to welcome you to Wilmington Day Nursery & Pre-School in Dartford Heath. Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal nursery tour at a time to suit you.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
