A place to grow

We are located within the catchment area of many schools including Nursling Primary School, Fairisle Infant School, Mansel Park Primary School, Redbridge Community School and Holy Family Catholic Primary School.

Our team of caring, nurturing staff use different levels of teaching to meet each individual child's stage of development. Staff have strong bonds with their key children, as quoted by Ofsted in their recent inspection: “The nursery has a high level of proactive staff who show dedication to their key person roles in valuing each child and meeting their individual needs.” We work in partnership with parents, offering up to £750 free settling in sessions prior to your child starting nursery, ensuring your child is happy and confident when you return to work. We also offer a discount for NHS staff.

Our delicious, healthy and nutritious food, sourced from trusted suppliers is prepared and cooked by our very own chef and we hold a 5* EHO rating for food safety and hygiene. Menus change seasonally and we cater for all dietary requirements. Please see the menu tab above for our current dishes. We hold extra-curricular activities including daily Boogie Mites music and movement sessions, which support letters and sounds and Spanish lessons on Monday and Friday afternoons for Pre-School.

We will be delighted to welcome you to Southampton Day Nursery. Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal nursery tour at a time to suit you.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
