Active Learning Finchley in North Finchley London offers childcare and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
The nursery boasts a large garden in which children can ride bikes, play sports and explore the natural world. We are also very excited about our upcoming refurbishment, which is due to be completed in 2018.
In addition to highly qualified and engaged nursery nurses, children's learning is supported by a specialist in art and performing arts, a preschool teacher and a sports coach. Focused lessons using specialist equipment in the children's own environment, allow them to immerse themselves in new experiences and to learn and grow in confidence in areas that may become a lifelong passion. We also offer Spanish, Japanese and ballet lessons and nutritional meals are provided by our on-site chef, using fresh ingredients.

I have been working in childcare, in Montessori and play based nurseries, for over 14 years in Ireland, New Zealand and the UK, with over 11 years’ experience as part of the management team. I am extremely passionate about creating a nursery environment that is warm, friendly, respectful, exciting and enriching, not only for the children but also for our families and our team. This starts with our nursery team, they are our most important and valuable assets. As a manager I always invest a lot of time in my team, ensuring they enjoy their job and supporting them to do the best job they can.I have always loved working with children and their natural desire to learn fascinates me. I have always seen fun and learning as a package, one cannot happen without the other. Children need to have fun and enjoy what they doing in order to learn and equally children need to be learning to have fun, to satisfy their natural desire to learn.
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
