Tabard Square Nursery and Preschool

Why Children Love Us

A place to grow

Tabard Square Day Nursery and Preschool offers childcare and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years, and our dedicated and passionate staff team helped us secure ‘Good’ at our most recent Ofsted inspection. We are located in a convenient central location for parents working in London Bridge or surrounding areas.

We offer bright and spacious rooms at the nursery and we are located a few minutes’ walk from the local park to allow children to explore their wider world. Our children are helped with their transition to school with our unique Ready for School Programme including Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians.

As well as a range of age appropriate activities from quiet story time to role play, we provide an array of extracurricular activities including French, Spanish, Piano lessons, Music and Movement and Click IT to develop inspiring and enriched young individuals. Our babies also benefit from a weekly 'Music and Sensory' class.

Meet the Team

Jennifer Gagg

I have over twenty years of experience in the childcare sector and enjoy my role as Nursery Field Manager. I have set up a nursery and supported it to Outstanding in the past and gained an Early Years Foundation Degree to enhance my Level 3 childcare qualification. My passion is people ‘big and small’ and I love to lead my team to create a high quality childcare setting that we are all proud of, and to see our little people grow into confident lifelong learners.

Michelle Evans

I have over twenty years’ experience of working in nursery roles and have been a deputy manager since 2004. I have been working at Tabard Square Nursery since the day it opened in 2006 and it has become an important part of my life. Coming from a large family overseas, I have learnt from an early age the importance of bonding and building sound relationships with others. This comes out in my passion in working with the children and families at the nursery.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
