An outstanding and inspiring nursery in Hinchley Wood, Esher

Discover our Outstanding Hinchley Wood Day Nursery and Preschool. Our spacious, purpose-built setting is designed to support your child's development, from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

Our large, open plan rooms are airy and spacious, with facilities and activities developed for the age and stage of your child. We nurture and encourage the children, using their interests as the basis for learning. We are proud to offer both French and ballet lessons and aim to give every child the opportunity to gain the knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

Preschoolers can benefit from a focus room and they particularly enjoy using our bespoke children's kitchen during our Creative Cooks Growing programme. It is complete with utensils and child-size counters and sinks, giving children the ability to mix and measure ingredients with confidence.

Each of our age-specific rooms has free-flow access to their own individual garden where the children will enjoy space to explore, discover and play. The preschool room leads out to a garden with a mud kitchen and tree house, encouraging imaginative and investigative play. Our fantastic outdoor space also includes a sports garden, a stage and a pets corner - a favourite with many of our children!

Formerly kidsunlimited Esher, our nursery is situated on the Hinchley Park residential development fronting the Kingston Bypass (A309). The nursery has parking for easy drop-off and collection and excellent access to the A3 and main line train links to London.

At Hinchley Wood nursery we have a long standing team and pride ourselves on our warm, family atmosphere. We are dedicated to delivering the best possible childcare available to local families, which has been recognised in our latest inspection where our nursery was rated Outstanding by Ofsted.

We would love to meet you and your child, so book a visit today and we will show you all our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Rachel Torbett

I started at Hinchley Wood Nursery in July 2011 as an apprentice doing my level 2 and from there I worked my way through my level 3 and proceeded to work my way up to a Room Leader. I have managed all ages and I'm currently leading the Preschool room. From working as a Room Leader I worked my way up to Third in Charge where I got to learn more about the business side. I also took on the role of SENCO. From this the deputy position at Hinchley Wood Day Nursery came up and I thought it was perfect timing for me to move up especially in an environment where I started my childcare journey. I have now been in the role since May 2016 and learning new things every day.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
