Meet the Team

Nikki Paine

My name is Nikki Paine and I have been working for Bright Horizons since 2003. I first qualified in childcare in 2004 when I gained my Diploma Level 3 whilst working within the company; this gave me a great opportunity to learn whilst working. Due to completing my qualification with Bright Horizons I was able to work with all the different age groups. I moved over to Teddies Basingstoke as Deputy Manager in 2009 and I have progressed within my career to Acting Nursery Manager. I really enjoy working with the team and watching them develop their confidence and abilities to also progress within their career. I love working with children and listening to their stories; it is also great watching them develop through the nursery.

Candice Walsh-Perks

My name is Candice and I have worked for Bright Horizons for over 8 years. I feel my job gives me the privilege of caring for many children. I have worked my way up from an apprentice to my current role as Deputy Manager - Level 3 Nursery Nurse. In January 2017 I moved to Basingstoke from Chineham Park Nursery and Preschool.

I worked with babies for many years and moved to Preschool to give me more experience of managing a bigger team.  I feel the experience of different ages enables me to be the best I can be at my job. I enjoy all aspects of my role especially being able to support all children and staff to be able to help them to develop and learn new skills. I am an understanding and approachable person which makes parents feel comfortable and happy when leaving their little ones in my care.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
