A nurturing and spacious nursery near Broadgreen Hospital

Your child will feel happy and safe to explore at our beautiful nursery, specially designed to support your child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

Your little one will enjoy a variety of age-appropriate activities, from sensory development in the baby room, through to innovative activities to spark their imagination in the preschool room.

A Bright Beginning

Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, we provide our research-led Bright Beginnings Curriculum to give your little one the very best start. Your child’s wellbeing is our highest priority, and we know that children learn best when they feel safe and secure.

Our unique Growing Enhancements introduce your child to reading, writing, art and maths through fun and inspiring activities.

Our baby room is split into non-mobile and mobile areas, allowing us to tailor care to your child’s specific developmental stage, always prioritising emotional wellbeing.

We support the physical development of our active toddlers with exciting apparatus such as wooden rockers and our large climbing frame, as well as giving them freeflow access to the garden.

Our 2- to 3-year-olds have an open plan environment. We support their mathematical development as well as speaking, listening and physical abilities which helps them to reach their milestones in preparation for the final, preschool room.

Preparing for School

Our Ready for School Programme further supports your preschooler with more enhancements such as art, science, and cooking, as well as encouraging them to practice important life skills to prepare them for school and beyond.

Dedicated Environments

Our nursery is laid out to give your little one the best age-specific environment in which to flourish, and in addition, we have a SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) on site for children who require an extra level of support.

We also have a dedicated Parent Room with sensory equipment for babies.

Stay connected with our Bright Horizons Family app to see how your little one progresses.

Outdoor Adventures

We have separated our garden into four sections for age appropriate outdoor play and we encourage independence with our free-flow access from each room.

Your child will enjoy regular nature walks and visits to the library to boost their knowledge and familiarity with the local area.

Ease and Convenience

We are situated in the grounds of Broadgreen Hospital, with a buggy storage area for your convenience.

Meet the Team

Broadgreen Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Stephanie Dickinson

I have worked for Bright horizons since 2010 and been fortunate enough to experience working in different roles across 3 different settings in the north. However, I have been based at Broadgreen day nursery since 2016.
I love this nursery and feel extreme pride to provide all of our hospital and community parents a safe, secure and nurturing environment for their children.
I truly dedicate my time to coach and lead the team to ensure they are delivering expectations and needs of all of the children, parents and Bright horizons.

Broadgreen Day Nursery and Preschool Deputy Manager

Colleen Gallagher

I have worked at Broadgreen for just over two years. My journey in childcare started through volunteering, after completing double health and social care at A-level, I decided to move on and further my knowledge through completing a degree at university in Early Childhood studies.

I started at the nursery in 2015 as a nursery nurse after the completion of my level 6, within the year I had progressed to preschool room leader, during this time I developed my management skills and knowledge. In 2017 I was thankful that an opportunity opened for the deputy manager position, to which I was successful. I am passionate about my role within the nursery, and it’s amazing working with such a fantastic team. I am exciting to move the nursery forward, and work alongside a manager that strives for outstanding.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
