My journey started after I left school. I volunteered in a school after I completed my A levels. I loved going to work and teaching young children, moulding their minds about philosophies and seeing them learn, grow and develop brought me great joy. This is what pushed me forward to undertake a degree in working with children and young people at Liverpool John Moores University in 2010.
During my course I spent 3 years in a small nursery part time carrying out university work, observing children and being involved with their planned activities. I loved working there and it showed in my performance. The nursery owner asked me if I would like to work for him full time in their pre-school room taking on a key person role and the responsibilities that come with it. I jumped at the opportunity and I started soon after completing my degree. I spent five years working at this nursery and genuinely loved every minute.
Although I loved the nursery, I was very keen to gain greater knowledge and understanding so that I could further my career. After lots of research into Bright Horizons, I applied for a position at Broadgreen Day Nursery; to my delight I was successfully appointed as the toddler room leader in December 2015.
I felt instantly settled into the nursery and received lots of positive feedback about my passion, dedication and creative practice. My joy continued as I was very quickly appointed as the Deputy Manger as of February 2016. I was over the moon as I am able to work alongside a manager who is supportive and constantly challenges me to learn and develop.
Together I believe we are a brilliant team and will work harmoniously together to help achieve our goals. I could not be prouder of my achievements and how far I have come. Working for Bright Horizons has given me the confidence to believe in myself and provided me with opportunities to thrive and grow
