Meet the Team

WoodLand Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Jo Titcombe

I started my childcare career back in 2008 for kidsunlimited as a Nursery Nurse and quickly worked my way up to be part of the Management team across both community and client nurseries within Oxford.  After a short time away, I re-joined Bright Horizons in 2016 to manage the nursery here at WoodLand and to support nurseries across the company. During my career I have been lucky to have worked in various settings which has provided me with a wealth of knowledge, varied experiences and extended my skillset to enable me to lead a team to provide exceptional care and education to all the children which enables them to flourish.

WoodLand Day Nursery and Preschool Deputy Manager

Karen Wilson

I have worked in childcare for twenty-eight years after achieving my NNEB when I was 18. I started my career in London before moving to Warwickshire to start a family and extend my career choices. I was given the opportunity to be a nursery manager with Bright Horizons and since supporting my own family whilst working Bright Horizons has been by my side enabling me to have flexible choices and various roles. All of these experiences have enhanced my working ethics. Currently I have been in post at WoodLand as deputy for just over two years and love engaging with all our families and supporting the children that pass our way.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons
