A place to grow

Our nursery setting is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:00, for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

We offer a warm, welcoming environment supporting the transition from home to nursery, and we provide excellent nutritionally-balanced menus using fresh ingredients prepared by our own chef. Our rural location with on-site farm means children have plenty of space to explore.

Our highly qualified team helped us to secure a Good rating from Ofsted in our latest inspection.

Meet the Team

Crocus Saffron Walden Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Anne Hunt

I have been employed at Crocus Early Years Centre since December 2001. I originally started as third in charge/room manager in preschool and after a period of acting manager early in 2008 was promoted to centre manager in August 2008. I have worked in childcare for over 25 years since having my own children in preschools and at a crèche. I completed my Foundation Degree in Early Years in January 2013.

Crocus Saffron Walden Day Nursery and Preschool Deputy Manager

I have worked in childcare for 10 years now and I am really excited to have just joined the team at Saffron Walden Crocus. I have a passion for early years and enjoy watching children learn and grow as they engage in activities inspired from their own interests and experiences.

I have worked at Crocus for the past 18 years. I have a level 4 in children's care, Learning and development and am the lead SENCo at the nursery. I work 4 days a week; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday leading the Preschool Team.

Crocus Saffron Walden Day Nursery and Preschool Third in Charge

I am room leader of the Baby room at Saffron that takes children from 3 months to 2 years. I love letting the babies interests grow through creative and outdoor experiences whether this is in paint, sand, soil or water. In my spare time I find myself illustrating in various coffee shops, where I am able to bring my creative ideas outside of work into the baby room.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer.
