Request a call backI have worked in childcare and education for over 20 years and love what I do as much now as I have always. I am thrilled to be part of the new team here at Hertford. I'm passionate about exceptional care and education in the early years and believe this is best achieved with people who can nurture, inspire and have fun with our little ones in their learning environments.
I believe as Childcare Practitioners, we never lose track of the fundamentals of being a Nursery Nurse and I love to create spaces and opportunities where children can feel at home and explore.
Since being with Bright Horizons, I have now become a Mum to a nearly 4 year old son who attends a Bright Horizons Nursery and is loving it. This gives me a unique insight into the head and heart decisions faced by our parents as they embark on using a childcare provider. Being a working Mum has helped me understand, with greater clarity the significant role Nursery Practitioners play in the lives of your children.
I very much look forward to sharing the journey of our Nursery opening with you and welcome you to come and meet the team.
I have worked within the Early Years sector for over twelve years and have been with Bright Horizons for the past two years. I’m Level Three qualified and have worked in various different nursery roles throughout my career. I absolutely love what I do and the best part of my day is getting to welcome all of the wonderful children and their families at the start of their day. I always aim to ensure the environment that we’re offering our children is stimulating, with lots of opportunities for development and most importantly fun! I have really enjoyed having the opportunity to help with the opening of Hertford, we have some amazing spaces including a fantastic garden and lots of resources for the children to really thrive in their development. We’d love to welcome you to come and have a look for yourselves, to meet the team and see what we have to offer.
I have worked in childcare for around ten years now and am just as passionate about my career today as I was the day I started. I believe that as practitioners in childcare, we hold the core values to support young children across the early years as individuals. Not only do we encourage and promote children’s learning and development, but we are the lucky ones who are able to support each child become whoever they desire to be.
Since becoming a part of the Bright Horizons team, I have seen how as a childcare provider, Bright Horizons seeks to promote the best outcomes for each child in their care. From helping a little one take their first steps to supporting our Preschool children with the next big step in their lives and becoming ‘big school ready’ with our Growing Enhancements.
“If every practitioner who helps to guide, support and nurture children uses their efforts as broadly as a child’s imagination, then the outcomes are limitless!”
Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.
Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
