A place to grow

Barley Barn Sawbridgeworth Day Nursery is based in a beautiful, Grade 2 listed country house along with a converted stable annex and brand new modular classroom building in the centre of Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire.

The pre-school children at our Sawbridgeworth children's day nursery benefit from having their own dedicated annex to enable them to flourish and reach their full potential in readiness for school. The nursery is open for 52 weeks of the year and operates from 7.30am – 6.30pm, Monday to Friday. Our vibrant and fun nursery offers morning, afternoon and all day childcare sessions for children aged 3 months to 5 years of age.

Food is provided by our fully trained, dedicated chef who prepares healthy nutritionally balanced meals and snacks using fresh locally sourced ingredients on a daily basis. We are fortunate enough to have two gardens at the day nursery in Sawbridgeworth which enable a very wide range of fun activities to take place outside every day, allowing us to offer a broad outdoor age related curriculum. Abundant parking is available in the Bell Street Car Park adjacent to the nursery and this ensures easy access.

We will be delighted to welcome you to Barley Barn Sawbridgeworth Day Nursery.

Meet the Team

Rebecca Lane

I would like to welcome you to visit our setting and invite you to get to know the team as we strive to provide a simulating and safe environment for your children.

I have over 15 years experience in childcare after having first discovered my love for the Early Years and education in secondary school.  Although, it wasn’t until I began to study for my BA (Hons) degree in "Integrated Working with Children and Families in the Early Years" that I truly began to call myself an advocate for families and particularly how children learn.

I have worked in various Early Years Settings including Family Support, NHS settings and Social Care as well as supporting a number of nursery providers across a London borough.

Our team at Sawbridgeworth are passionate, caring, and dedicated.  We look forward to getting to know you and your family, and I encourage you to visit us and get to know me so that we can achieve the best for your little ones together.

Zoe Page

I have been within the company since early 2016 and transferred to Barley Barn Sawbridgeworth in February 2017, firstly as the Preschool Room Leader and then got promoted to Deputy Manager in January 2018. I grew up and was raised in London by two childminders who developed my passion for childcare. Volunteering in various different areas of the educational sector supported me in developing my knowledge and passion to help children reach for the stars.

I have worked with children who have special educational needs and have gained an NVQ level 3 alongside attending many other training courses. I am excited to offer both the nursery and your child a stimulating and safe environment where they can learn and grow.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
