Active Learning Crouch End

Why Children Love Us

A place to grow

Active Learning Crouch End is located on 7 acres of cricket grounds, as part of the Hornsey Cricket Club and offers care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Children take advantage of a wide range of resources including a fully equipped art studio, a preschool science lab, an IT studio, and for our younger babies, a sensory room. Our garden features mud kitchens and scrambling boulders as well as plenty of opportunity for exploration. Our on site chef provides nutritionally balanced meals, using fresh ingredients.

Meet the Team

Nosh Hussain

I am currently working as the Deputy Manager at Active Learning Crouch End where I joined the team in March 2014. I have been with Active Learning since September 2008 where I started as a nursery nurse at our Finchley branch and was promoted to room leader in January 2009.

In 2010, I was promoted to a third in charge role where I helped support the other room leaders along with a couple of our other settings and in 2012 I moved over to our West Hampstead nursery as a Deputy Manager which helped me grow and develop as a leader.

I have enjoyed my journey at Active Learning and look forward to continuing my progression with Bright Horizons.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!
