We are lucky to have seven spacious rooms, full of enriching age-appropriate resources. Environments are set up to develop early academic subjects, and creativity is encouraged through dedicated art zones and building areas. Children can also enjoy three separate studios.

Our children’s kitchen supports our Creative Cooks programme and enhances their confidence with mixing and measuring ingredients. Our art studio is the perfect place to practise mark making and have fun with paints. Lastly, the science studio gives children space to investigate, observe and find out how things work.

Outside, West Hill nursery has a water-play wall, chalkboards, a reading nook, and room to strengthen their physical development.

Staff are committed to delivering exceptional childcare and education to every child in the nursery, Ofsted have recognised this commitment with a Good rating in their latest inspection.

Meet the Team

Bright Horizons West Hill Day Nursery and Preschool Manager

Eve Aitchison

I have been the Nursery Manager at West Hill Since July 2020 and have worked for Bright Horizons for 15 months and have worked in the Surbiton and Richmond branch. I have over 9 years’ experience in childcare,

I have a passion for providing exciting environments that will ignite children’s passion for learning and having fun. I have my CACHE Level 3 in Childcare and education and am currently working towards my Level 3 SENCO qualification and always take an opportunity to further my knowledge and education to continue to provide the best quality care.

I have had experience as a Children Rep abroad in Austria and Cyprus running a children’s club providing a range of fun exciting activities.  I then enjoyed two years as a Private Nanny and gaining my Maternity Nanny qualification after doing this I found I really missed working with a team and leading and sharing my passion with others. In 2016 I returned to nurseries working as room leader and from then on have worked my way up to management. I want to provide a home from home environment for children so they can thrive and learn in whilst staying safe. I very much look forward to all the exciting things to come and West Hill.

Bright Horizons West Hill Day Nursery and Preschool Deputy Manager

Simone Gordon

I have been a Deputy Manager at West Hill since January 2020. I have worked for Bright Horizons for 12 years working hard to progress my career within the company.  I started as a nursery nurse, then moved on to room leader after doing this for a number of years I thought I wanted a change in career and as I have a passion for cooking I took the chef position in the nursery I have also been the chef for over 1 and a half years before I decided that I missed being with the children too much. So on this decision, I transitioned to working in the Preschool room. After a short few months, I took on the role of room Leader for about a year before I took a step up the career ladder and became Third in Charge.  I held this position for 11 months before taking the position of Deputy Manager.  I have been in childcare for over 12 years. I qualified with a CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education. I have worked my way up from being a nursery nurse to Deputy Manager over this time.

I am passionate in delivering outstanding and exceptional care and education to all our children and families here at West Hill.  I have a great role as I am able to get the best of both worlds as I can stay in touch in the development of the children and staff team and am able to work on developing the business for the future.  I am the Health and Safety Officer for the nursery. I am responsible for all Health and Safety aspects in the nursery. I ensure all safety checks are carried out and any work there is to be done is done in a timely manner. I also ensure all the staff are well looked after as this is paramount so in turn they are able to care for your children.

I look forward to welcoming caring and for your child here at West Hill and hope you have a long and happy stay.  I look forward to welcoming and caring for your child and hope that their and your experience here will be a long and happy one.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
