Muddy Puddles children's day nursery in Hertfordshire is committed to providing the best possible Early Years environment for your child.
Our dedicated staff will cherish and nurture your child, encouraging them to develop friendships, independence, curiosity and, most importantly of all, to have fun! Children attending Muddy Puddles are cared for in one of four rooms, moving between these as they achieve developmental milestones, loosely reached in line with their age. Resources and activities within each room are aimed at encouraging further development within the seven key areas of learning and development. Additional equipment and resources within the four rooms are aimed at extending and supporting the key areas defined in the Early Years Foundation Stage. Messy play, painting, gluing, mark-making, baking, stories, construction, threading, imaginative play and dressing up are amongst the indoor activities which are all enjoyed across the nursery on a regular basis. Our extra-curricular activities include Boogie Mites and myHappymind, encouraging a healthy lifestyle from a young age.
Uniquely situated in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, we endeavour to make the most of our rural surroundings to enhance your child’s development through outdoor play and learning, be it joining together for a nursery picnic, discovering creepy crawlies on a woodland walk or watching awestruck as an incubated chick emerges from its shell, our aim is to fill your child’s nursery days with exciting experiences and challenges.
Mealtimes at Muddy Puddles are a happy, social occasion for children and staff alike. All our food is prepared and cooked daily on site by our chef and we offer a healthy, balanced diet as well as meeting individual needs and preferences

I have been working in the Early Years Workforce for over ten years, this has included working for both the private and charity sector, and this has provided me a wealth of knowledge and experience. I have worked in a wide variety of roles which has enabled me to gain valuable experience with a wide age range of children (0 – 12 years of age) and their families.
I initially went to college to gain my Level 3 in Childcare and Development and then used this knowledge to go into the workforce and continued to develop my skills by working directly with children and also studying many short courses including first aid and safeguarding, as well as achieving my Level 3 in Management in 2016.
I have had a variety roles and became successful in the role of Nursery Manger in 2016 which I have now enjoyed doing for nearly three years, within two different nurseries. I am excited to now be continuing with my journey by joining the Bright Horizons Family and I am looking forward to expanding my personal development and working with the children, families and staff at Muddy Puddles.
My aim is to provide an enabling environment where children are given the opportunities to reach their full potential, and to build secure partnerships with families to ensure the children are given the best possible care. I am keen to continue to develop the nursery by using the unique skill set of each individual and working on some new projects.
