A place to grow

Livingston Early Learning and Childcare is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:00, for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

We offer a warm, welcoming environment supporting the transition from home to nursery, and we provide excellent nutritionally-balanced menus.

We offer a range of extracurricular activities such as French lessons and Caterpillar Music sessions. A large peaceful private garden suitable for babies, toddlers and pre-school children to enjoy all throughout the year including a mud kitchen, natural growing space and green woodlands with a separate area for children to use bikes, scooters & tricycles. We also offer a Weekly Baby and Toddler Group, every Friday from 10am - 11am.

Our highly qualified team helped us secure a Very Good rating our latest Care Inspectorate.

Mindful of the current economic climate and the challenges this brings for families, the nursery tries hard to keep fees competitive while always balancing this with the need to maintain the high standards of service you expect and which they demand of themselves therefore this year nursery fees at the Livingston Nursery will be at a new lower rate – call to book a tour today!

Christine Haddon

I have 13 years childcare experience working in various sized private nursery settings as well as charity run playgroups. I have a BA(Hons)  in Childhood and Youth Studies and am currently studying a Froebel course with Edinburgh University.

I started working in childcare when my youngest child started school and continued to work and study until I achieved my qualification. I believe that children need plenty of outdoor play to develop and grow, nature offers so many opportunities and stimulates the children on lots of levels, the benefits are vast and it is our job as practitioners to provide a safe and stimulating environment outdoors as well as in.

In my spare time I enjoy travelling, reading and spending time with my 2 children and numerous animals.

Sarah Woods

I have worked in the Early Learning and Childcare field for 22 Years and am still amazed each and every day at how the children in our care develop into the people they become. It is an honour to be part of their young lives and play a small part in the children’s and their families lives.

I qualified first with my SNNEB and from college have developed to a position with Leadership responsibilities within Bright Horizons as Deputy Manager,  I achieved my SVQ 4 in 2013 and am currently working towards my BA in Childhood Practice with Dundee University .

I have worked for Bright Horizons for nearly 9 years, previously working in another early years private nursery since qualifying. I am passionate about supporting our staff team in providing a respectful and nurturing environment for all children, ensuring that their individual needs and qualities are respected and nurtured. I am proud to be part of a team who consistently achieve exceptional outcomes in inspections and excellent feedback from families.   I am committed to continuous Professional Development to strive to be the best I can be so that we can provide high quality care and learning. My own son, who is at school now, attended Bright Horizons at Livingston from a very young age and still talks fondly of his time at nursery.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
