A WELCOMING NURSERY IN THE HEART OF EDINBURGH

You and your child will love our charming nursery in Edinburgh. Our beautiful setting is designed to support your child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years, and is led by a long-standing team—some of whom have over 15 years of childcare experience.

Our multicultural and bilingual staff team are passionate about nurturing your child’s love of learning, fun, creativity and exploration. From our in-house chef who leads regular baking and cooking activities, to a monthly breakfast club for parents to join us with their child, our focus is on enriching every child’s life with exciting, educational and social experiences.

Every age group has their own room with specialised activities and equipment to support their learning. We also have a calming sensory room that is available for all age groups to use at various times. Our beautiful garden is complete with a range of play equipment and two separate age-specific spaces. Your child will get to further explore their creativity with regular trips to a local allotment. Here they can build their knowledge on growing fruits and vegetables, and draw inspiration from their natural surroundings to create beautiful artwork.

Located just minutes away from Edinburgh city centre, Annandale Early Learning and Childcare is conveniently located near transport links and the local library. We also have on-site car parking and buggy storage available to make pick-up and drop-off as easy for you as possible.

We are dedicated to delivering the best possible childcare to our local families in the Edinburgh community. This is why we have a 5/5 star rating on Google and are rated Good by the Care Inspectorate (as of November 2019).

We would love to meet you and your child, so book a visit with us today and we will show you all our nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

Candy Floss

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
