A place to grow

Bright Horizons Active Learning West Hampstead offers care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years, close to all local transport links.

The nursery benefits from an airy spacious environment, a separate creative room, role play and library for our Preschoolers as well as a exploratory room for the younger children. The large garden also means all children can explore the natural world around them.

Children in the nursery are well prepared to transition to school with our Ready for School Programme which includes Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians. We also benefit from our very own specialist teacher focusing on English, Maths, Science and Sports. Our nursery also provides French, ballet and Zumba lessons.

All-inclusive fees include all meals, snacks, branded nappies, wipes and creams. All our food is freshly cooked by our on-site chef and is nutritionally balanced and all the menus have been accredited by the Children Food Trust.

Donna Dole

My career in the early years sector has grown over the last 12 years through different roles. This has given me opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of the areas within an early years setting. I have completed my NVQ level 2, 3 and 4 in early years care and education. My passion for career progression allows me to support my team’s knowledge and self-development.

I have been with Bright Horizons since 2012. As a manager I believe the children are the centre of all we do, and by supporting the team we create enabling environments for all children, giving them opportunity to explore and be involved in a variety of play activities.

I am also a mum to 3 boys, my youngest has always attended the nursery setting. This has allowed me to see nursery life from a parent’s perspective, giving me the understanding that the parents need to feel and know they are leaving their child in a safe and secure environment where they can learn and grow.

Saharish Saeed

I gained my National Vocational Qualification in Children's Care, Learning and Development in 2007, Prior to this I graduated with a BA in Fashion Design.

I have been with Bright Horizons since 2010, where I began my journey as Head of Room for Preschool. I enjoyed supporting children's learning and development whilst working in partnership with parents, supporting families and leading a small team.

I have worked in a number of roles for Bright Horizons including 3rd in Charge, Deputy Manager and Nursery Manager.

I joined Active Learning JW3 in November 2016 as a Deputy Manager to cover a maternity post and I am now looking forward to continuing my career at Bright Horizons in my role as Business Manager at Active Learning West Hampstead.

I am passionate about childcare and thrive on providing a safe, educational, home away from home environment where children can learn and develop whilst enjoying their time at nursery.

I thoroughly enjoy my interactions with children and will often be found with a group participating in an activity, whilst supporting and motivating the team in providing exceptional experiences for the children within our care.

I am committed in providing a culture of behavioural safety and an environment of Keeping Everyone Safe.

Hasan Saffari (left) & Shereen Henry-Oliver

Hasan has worked in childcare for 14 years and holds a degree in Early Years. He joined the Active Learning group at West Hampstead in 2015, having moved from Manchester where he had been managing an independent nursery.

Whilst working across the nursery when required, Hasan is the leader of the Under 2s unit within our nursery, ensuring that our babies and toddlers have the best possible start by coaching, developing and leading the team to deliver warm, supportive care and exciting learning opportunities as our smallest children begin exploring the world.

Shereen joined kidsunlimited as a nursery nurse in 2012, prior to them joining the Bright Horizons family in 2013. Shereen holds a Level 3 qualification and has worked her way up to the role of Deputy Manager at our Beaufort Park nursery, before joining West Hampstead in 2016.

Shereen is the leader of the over 2s units, working with Room Leaders to ensure that our children in 2-3's and Pre-School have access to a stimulating and exciting curriculum that gives them a solid start in education and making sure they are ready to take the big step to school.

Candy Floss

Hi, my name is Candy Floss, I joined Bright Horizons in March 2010 as the ‘Super Safety Hero’ to help nursery children stay safe and manage risks. My role as a Health and Safety Super Hero is unique to Bright Horizons and I’m in every nursery, 365 days a year.

Back in 2010, I saw a job advert for a Zebra Super Safety Hero – I was very excited, applied and was invited for an interview with several other zebras. We were interviewed by all the children who then voted on which of us would be their Super Safety Hero. It was hoof biting but I was thrilled when they told me I was the most voted for by the children who all loved me because of my cape and bag. My bag is very special, if something fits inside, it’s a choking hazard. You might be wondering how I got my name. The children in our nurseries chose five names and voted for their favourite. I love it as it’s unique, I mean have you ever heard of a zebra called Candy Floss? Exactly!

Why Bright Horizons

The Bright Horizons passion and enthusiasm for providing high-quality care isn’t just common knowledge within our own business – we’ve also gained some impressive accolades from external sources for excellence as both a childcare provider, and as an employer. We are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 11 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute.
