Children at Bright Horizons Wandsworth Common Day Nursery and Preschool have celebrated National Storytelling Week by taking part in a variety of themed activities.

The children under 2 years began by reading “The Gruffalo” after which they made their own and counted the spikes on his back. The toddlers painted pirate treasure and took part in a role play being pirates on an island.

The preschool children also took part in a role play of their own playing the characters from “Three Little Pigs” after which they created their own versions of the pigs’ houses of straw, sticks and bricks.

“The children were excited to celebrate National Storytelling Week with the role plays,” said Ditta Kankulya, nursery manager. “We look forward to taking part in this week in future years.”
